Study On The Urban Form Of "Colonial Cities In Late Modern China"

This paper takes Qingdao,Harbin and Changchun as the research objects.Starting from the similarity of their modern development process,this paper tries to construct the concept of " Colonial Cities in Late Modern China " innovatively,and discusses the general and respective characteristics of these cities,as well as their differences.At the end,this paper initially forms the urban morphology theory of " Colonial Cities in Late Modern China ".This paper analyzes from two levels of cultural form and material form,and obtains a series of preliminary conclusions on the characteristics of " Colonial Cities in Late Modern China ".Cultural form is mainly from the historical development context,summed up these cities’ s global,colonial,aesthetic,functional,fusion,diversity,nationality and modernity characteristics.Meanwhile,the material form level as the focus of this paper,analyzes from the urban construction stage,urban structure layout,urban division,typical block texture in each district,and typical architectural types.Then,concluding a set of paradigms describing the urban morphological characteristics of " Colonial Cities in Late Modern China ",which forms the core point of this paper.The above theories can be used as the basis for the protection of historical cities in Qingdao,Harbin and Changchun.In particular,the common characteristics of these cities mentioned in this paper,as the common characteristics and findings of three similar cities,will further strengthen the excavation of the traditional characteristics of such cities,support the protection of such historical cities more firmly,and provide an understanding platform for the exchange of experience between different cities.Finally,from the perspective of the theory of " Colonial Cities in Late Modern China ",this paper tries to analyze the problems of Qingdao’s current work,and puts forward some ideas and suggestions.
