Belt conveyors are one of the main transportation equipment for conveying materials.With the development trend of belt conveyors to long distances,large volumes,and high belt speeds,traditional conveyors are no matter in terms of important core data or function.Reliability is no longer able to meet the demand for high production and high efficiency.Under the premise of considering the operating conditions,how to reduce costs and minimize energy consumption is the first and foremost issue in the study of belt conveyors.As one of the important parts of the belt conveyor,the roller is used to support and ensure that the conveyor belt carrying the material between the two rollers meets the sag requirement during operation.The rotation resistance of the idler roller and the indentation rolling resistance,the bending and squeezing resistance of the conveyor belt constitute the main resistance of the belt conveyor.These three resistances also jointly determine the simulation friction coefficient in the design and calculation of the belt conveyor.value.Excessive rotation resistance will increase the running resistance of the conveyor belt and cause wear of the conveyor belt,which in turn leads to a reduction in the overall service life of the conveyor and an increase in cost in disguise.There are many factors affecting rotation resistance,among which the most important ones are belt speed and load.The research on the influence of these factors at home and abroad is not very clear.Therefore,this paper carries out theoretical mechanism,numerical simulation,simulation analysis and comparison of rotation resistance.The specific contents of the study are as follows:(1)Firstly,the improved calculation formula of roller rotation resistance is derived,and it is verified and compared with the calculation method of roller rotation resistance in the current CEMA standard in the United States.(2)Subsequently,ADAMS software was used to simulate the bearing resistance in the rotation resistance,and ANSYS software was used to simulate and analyze the labyrinth seal resistance in the rotation resistance,and the change law of the roller rotation resistance under different belt speeds and loads was obtained.(3)By comparing the error of the theoretical formula and the formula of the roller rotation resistance in the CEMA standard on the bulk material belt conveyor with the results obtained by the simulation,the result of the roller selection resistance that is closer to the simulation value is obtained.The calculation method provides a basis for the precise selection of the friction coefficient of the belt conveyor in different situations.
