Analysis On The Influencing Factors Of Railway Engineering Design Changes

Railway is one of the backbone forces and main modes of transportation in China’s national transportation system.Its project construction plays an important role in the sustained and rapid development of China’s national economy.The factors of design changes in railway construction period are various.The increasing number of design changes will inevitably have a negative impact on the construction period,cost,quality and other aspects of the projects.Railway project construction has characteristics of many areas,detailed specialization,strict equipment standards and large investment scale.At present,the research on design change management of railway industry is still in its infancy.Therefore,identifying and analyzing the influencing factors of railway engineering design changes plays a key role in reducing or avoiding losses in the construction stage of railway projects.In this thesis,AHP-BP method is used to study the influencing factors of railway engineering design changes.The current situation of the influencing factors is analyzed by using 118 railway project change data in the past five years.On this basis,combined with historical documents and correlative theories,an index system including 15 kinds of change factors is constructed.The Analytical Hierarchy Process method was used to evaluate 15 change factors from subjective and objective perspectives.Taking the subjective score as the input and the integrated score result as the output,the BP neural network algorithm of MATLAB₂017b uses the data processed by the AHP software to train the BP neural network,adjust the error,learn the weights and thresholds,thus show the accurate and reliable integrated evaluation result of the influencing factors.The research result shows that the survey and design companies play the most important role in the design changes of railway construction projects,followed by the owners.The most influential factor is whether the survey and design company updates the specifications in time,followed by the survey and design companies’ professional cooperation.This study provides some references for railway survey and design companies to reduce or avoid unnecessary losses caused by design change in the construction stage of railway projects.
