Driven by the thriving economy,China’s cultural and creative industries have achieved vigorous development.Under the general tide of the tourism economy,cultural and creative product design of the tourism festival is emerging,which plays a promoting role in the integration of local traditional culture and tourism industry.Despite the widespread organization and prosperous development of tourism festivals throughout the country,the cultural and creative design in some places still remain at immature stage due to the different development conditions of cultural and creative industries in different areas,thereby generating vacancies in the design of cultural and creative products when holding tourism festivals.Datong,with time-honored history and culture,distinctive cultural content and a wealth of tourism resources,has held Datong Yungang Cultural Tourism Festivals for20 years,which created beneficial conditions for the cultural and creative design and development of the tourism festival.Originated from the development of the field of narratology,through storytelling,narrative design integrates regional traditional culture into the design and development of cultural and creative products of Datong Yungang Cultural Tourism Festival,which can offer a new path for the development of cultural and creative design,so that tourists can comprehend the unique cultural connotation of Datong in cultural and creative products,thereby achieving the goal of cultural promotion.This research mainly takes narrative theory as the starting point and combines the distinctive regional cultural characteristics of Datong to make up for the gaps in the cultural and creative product design of the current Datong Yungang Cultural and Tourism Festival.The paper consisting of five parts will elaborate on the cultural and creative product design of Datong Yungang Cultural Tourism Festival "Time in Jin" based on narrative theory.In the first part,the research under the guidance of narrative theory is confirmed,Bases on domestic and foreign research status and government policies,this part clarifies the basic direction for the research,and lays a framework foundation for the research writing of the overall paper;the second part mainly analyzes and summarizes theories related to narrative and cultural and creative design of tourism festivals.Through typical case study,this part draw referential experiences;in the third part,the author conducts a survey and research on the development of cultural and creative design of Datong and Yungang Cultural Tourism Festival,thus providing reliable basis for the subsequent cultural and creative design practice according to the results of the questionnaire;in the fourth part,based on the analysis and research of the first three parts,the author summarizes principles and strategy methods for narrative cultural creative design;in the fifth part participates,aforementioned design strategy methods are put into "Time in Jin" cultural creative design practice for further presentation.
