Imitated-wooden-aechitecture decorationcame into being with the emergence of tombs which looks like a house in the Han Dynasty. With the continuous improvement of the wood architecture system, the decorative methods and contents of the late Tang Dynasty changed stage by stage,Song,Liao and Jin dynastieswere the most developed. In the Liao Dynasty, there were both the Khitans who were in the political upper strata, the "Hans who living for generations" who lived south of the Great Wall for a long time, and the "Hans who moved to the north" who moved to the north of the Great Wall for a long time.Imitated-wooden-aechitecture decoration of the tombs of these three groups of people have different performances. This article aims to clarify the ethnic differences(Khitan and Han people),regional differences(the Han people living for generations and the Han people who moved to the north)and their respective eras in the three types of imitation wood decorations in the three types of tombs. Finally,do a preliminary study on the imitated-wooden-aechitecture decorationof the tombs of the Liao Dynasty. This article is divided into five parts:The first part explains the reasons for choosing the topic, research goals and research plan of this article, and defines and explains several concepts used in the article. The second part analyzes the decoration techniques, scope and content of the Han tombs in the Liao Dynasty.First,It is believed that the dominant position of the carving technique stems from the objective need of a well-performed bracket system. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, the development of wood structure buildings was mature and finalized in the Song Dynasty. In particular, the completeness of the bracket system, imitating the multi-layered jump of the above-ground wooden building bracket, led to the further development of carving techniques.2.The decoration of the Han people who living for generations tombs changed from focusing on the tomb passage and patio in the Tang Dynasty to focusing on the tomb chamber. This change is related to the fact that the decoration of tombs in the Tang Dynasty mainly reflects the social class hierarchy, while the social status of the citizen class in the Song and Liao Dynasty gradually rose, and the concept of hierarchy was not strong.3.The tomb gate also expresses the exterior facade of the building.Compared with the development of Tang and Five Dynasties, the tweened herringbone arch disappeared, and the vertical jumping components such as Huagong Xiaang and overhanging bracket were added, which was consistent with the perfection of the bracket structure at this time.4.The wood-like decoration of the tomb is focused on expressing the exterior facade of the building, combined with the analysis of the astrological diagram on the top of the tomb, there is a strong intention to imitate the courtyard on the ground, that is,the courtyard of the tomb. The third part is the analysis of the imitated-wooden-aechitecture decorationof the Khitan tombs.First, the tomb door has become the center of decoration, and the tomb does not use imitation wooden decoration is the most significant difference between the Khitan and the Han.Not only the front of the tomb door is decorated with imitation wood, but also the patio outside the tomb door and the sides of the tomb passage are also decorated with imitation wood, which is a new development in the decoration of the tomb door.2.Analyzing the non-decoration phenomenon in the tomb chamber without drawing a celestial picture on the top of the tomb,it is easy to understand that it is imitating the felt tents that lived during his lifetime.Entering the room is like entering a felt tent,so you can’t see the sky,and naturally you don’t need to imitate wood decoration.3.Although the performance of the tomb decoration is very different from the Han people, the design concept of trying to imitate the living environment before death is the same. The fourth part is the analysis of the wood-like decoration of the tombs of Han people who moved to the north. On the whole,it has mixed the influence of the Khitan people and the Han people, and the later the age,the deeper the influence of the Han people. The fifth part summarizes the main content of this article, and puts forward the deficiencies in the article,as well as the problems to be solved.
