At present,China is experiencing a rapid urbanization process.During the process, the expansion of urban scale and the transformation of various types of land utilization are one of the main characteristics.China has a long history and a large number of historical sites remain. In urban construction, the demand for construction land inevitably compresses and destroys the space of sites in the city. The emergence of Urban Heritage Parks have greatly eased the contradiction between heritage protection and urban construction. However, the construction of Heritage Park should not only consider the basic function of the city park, but also meet the needs of heritage protection, which requires high design and planning. The city wall is an important symbol of the emergence of the city, and plays an important role in the history of urban development. In contemporary society, the city wall is the embodiment of a city’s historical connotation.Due to historical reasons, there are not many complete city walls in China at present, most of them are preserved in the form of city wall ruins. In order to ensure the ruins no longer be damaged further, many cities construct Heritage Parks to protect and develop the city wall.Because the shapes and volumes of the city walls are quite different from those of the traditional sites, special researches are required. This paper will take the ruins of the inner city wall of Shang-city in Zhengzhou as the research object to analyzes the recreational resources and tourist experience in different areas by using the methods of recreational resources evaluation and post-occupy evaluation on the basis of the division of different parts of the city wall, and puts forward improvement suggestions based on the comprehensive results. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Classification of recreational areas of the city wall sites of Shang-city in ZhengzhouAccording to the characteristics of the ruins of the city wall of Shang-city and the conditions of surrounding land utilization, the Shang-city wall can be divided into six areas:People’s square area,Zijingshan park area, the middle section of the east city wall, the relics park of Shang-city area, the west section of the south city wall area, and the Shang-city park area, which reflects the differences in recreational resources and tourists’ behaviors in different areas.(2)The construction of the evaluation system of recreational resources and environment of the city wall sites of Shang-city in ZhengzhouOn the basis of five first-class indexes, such as natural factor, social factor, management factor, cultural relic protection factor, science, education and culture factor,14 second-class indexes and 34 third-class indexes are determined. The weight of each index is analyzed by analytic hierarchy process(AHP)and the factor scoring standard is established. The scores of each factor were obtained through investigation, and the recreational environment of six regions was evaluated.(3)There are some differences in the quality of recreational resources and environment in the city wall sites of Shang-city in ZhengzhouThe results of recreational resources and environment evaluation shows that there are great differences in recreational resources in different areas. The recreational environment of the relics park of Shang-city area is the best. The scores of people’s square area,Zijingshan park area and the west section of the south city wall area are similar, all of which are at the middle level. The score of the middle section of east city wall area is the lowest, and there is a large room for improvement. In general, the functions of each area as a city park are basically complete, but there are still some deficiencies in the protection and cultural construction of city wall sites.(4)Tourists are generally satisfied with the recreational environment of the city wall sites in Shang city in ZhengzhouThe result of post-occupy evaluation shows that the travel characteristics of tourists are greatly influenced by the surrounding social factors. The basic elements of tourists, such as gender, age and education background, are not significantly different, and the number of weekdays is higher than that of weekends.People’s Square and Zijingshan park have a large number of people who exercise and leisure in the morning and evening, and a certain proportion of people who visit and travel in the daytime;the relics park of Shang-city has a large number of people who exercise, visit and leisure, and less walking behavior. On the whole, tourists are satisfied with most of the areas, but they mostly recognize the functions of urban parks. In terms of cultural relics protection, science, education and culture, users still have a greater demand.(5)Based on the protection of the ruins of city wall sites of Shang city in Zhengzhou, the recreational landscape needs to be further improved.Based on the results of the two evaluations, the improvement of the landscape of the city wall site can be carried out from three aspects.First of all,we should improve the basic recreational functions and elements to meet the basic needs of tourists in the process of tourism. Then combined with the situation of the city wall site, strengthen the display and explanation of the site,so that tourists can understand the site protection and related culture on the basis of basic recreational behavior. Finally, from the point of view of the overall promotion of large sites and regions,it is no longer limited to the construction of small areas. The city wall sites and other sites along the line are planned as a whole.Through the construction of the city wall site landscape, the protection and display system of the site of the mall is constructed.
