The Xiangcheng County Ancient City Wall Ruins Protection Park Planning And Design

As an architectural form, Chinese ancient city wall is unique in the world history, and it is an important part of the development history of human civilization, as a construction achievement which has condensation the human technology and cultural art, its protection is very great necessity, at the same time it has far-reaching significance about the construction of city green ecological system and the protection of the old city historical culture.In the south of Xiangcheng County of Xuchang have existing ancient city walls.The walls were founded in the Spring and Autumn Dynasty, scaled in the Han Dynasty and were mostly rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty, so they are the key cultural relics protection units of Henan Province.This case research the planning and design of Xiangcheng ancient city wall Park through the method of literature study, field survey and the case study. This paper summarizes the research progress of the Ancient City Wall Ruins Park,basic practical cases,design techniques and functional use,based on those,then proposed the new theory of planning and design with its Riverside base edge characteristics. Design study describes the historic significance and ecological value about the ancient city wall protected, summed up in the Ancient City Wall RuinsPark design should follow the principles of the statue ancient and keep true, into old to new, people-oriented and the diversity, with Xiangcheng historical context as the theme, the riverside water resources as the backing,has transformed the wall protection, cemetery restoration, terraforming, ecological experience applied to the planning and design, using a concise and lively design technique to create a Riverside City Park of quiet, natural, ancient and vicissitudes. This case has a certain guiding significance to the inheritance of the historical and cultural, the improvement of the urban environment and the construction of urban green space ecology system.
