For a growing number of industrial sectors, and particularly the automotive segment, equipment manufacturers are increasingly being entrusted with activities beyond the processes usually considered as part of the simple logistics supply. This is the case, for example,of product differentiation operations to suit the demand of the end customer in the supply chain. Thus, the automotive supplier must ensure product differentiation and manufacture it just-in-time to meet customer demand. This master’s dissertation aims to set up a method to optimize the scheduling of an automotive parts manufacturer. Our study will be conducted in four areas: a literature review on the main planning and scheduling management models, the identification of the industrial situation and needs, the simulation of the production line, and the development of an optimized planning method. The main problem encountered by production that this research must solve is to propose a scheduling method that makes it possible to achieve a 100% service rate. The main points of reflection focused on the choice of implementation and physical parameters to be considered as well as on the scheduling and sequencing methods to be used.We have chosen to start from the Advanced Planning and Scheduling method. The application to a specific case allowed us to overcome the lack of adaptation of this method to changes in production.Indeed,we designed and applied a resolution based on a mixed method based on trial-and-error resolution through simulation, and heuristic optimization through mathematical programming. This mixed approach has enabled us to develop a flexible, realistic and optimal production simulation and scheduling model. Finally,we have built a mathematical model to bring a scientific approach to a real industrial problem.Based on the different needs of the customers and the capabilities of the manufacturer,we have designed a mathematical programming able to generate a scheduling algorithm. We met our criteria in terms of reducing production time, minimising storage capacity and improving service rate. Moreover,we have reached the other requirements, our research includes: a system modelling and an analysis method,a modelling method of mathematical programming,a design and an analysis method of optimal planning algorithm, and a design and development of a realistic simulation.
