Research On The Vitality Construction Of Public Space In Old Urban Communities

With the urbanization process from rapid expansion to the pursuit of improving the quality of urban life,from "incremental planning" to "stock planning",the focus of urban construction has changed from "new city development" to "old city renewal".Therefore,the old residential area,which accounts for a large proportion of the city,as the most basic unit of the city,has become a hot spot of reconstruction and construction.However,the renewal of old urban communities often focuses on physical aspects such as infrastructure and landscaping,which is far away from people’s subjective desire to pursue the quality of life,and relatively ignores the "spiritual" level.People are more and more aware of the importance of activating the vitality of the community,and the public space in the old community as the main place for residents’ outdoor daily activities,whether its space quality can meet the needs of residents’ activities,whether it can be accepted and recognized by residents,is the main embodiment of community vitality.Based on the development history of residential areas in China,this paper takes the community as the basic unit of the city as the research object,and makes a field investigation on the typical and highly representative public space in the old community of Shijingshan District in Beijing,Combined with the comparative analysis of relevant cases at home and abroad,through the combination of practice and theory,based on perceptual knowledge and supported by quantitative data,this paper explores the implementable and operable ways and Strategies of public space vitality construction in old urban communities from the aspects of space design,management and technical support,and puts them into practice in Bajiao community of Shijingshan District,In order to get more scientific and comprehensive research and conclusions,to help shape the sense of place and belonging of the community,and strive to explore new ideas and solutions for the transformation and renewal of old urban communities,and effectively improve the quality of life of urban community residents.
