The Belt and Road initiative has brought new development opportunities for Chinese construction companies to "go global".However,the social conflicts and environmental problems caused by inadequate understanding and improper performance of the social responsibility of the host country often occur in the construction of overseas construction enterprises of Chinese construction enterprises,which intensifies the risks of overseas construction of Chinese construction enterprises.In order to create a well-known Chinese engineering brand and establish a good national image,it is necessary to analyze the demand preference for the social responsibility of construction enterprises from the perspective of the social responsibility demand of the host country,so as to provide effective strategic suggestions for the external construction of Chinese construction enterprises.Firstly,based on the perspective of social demand,this paper makes a theoretical analysis on the demand of construction enterprises’ social responsibility in the countries along the line from three aspects: the definition of demand,relevant theories and theoretical comments.Through the national system level,the influencing factors of social responsibility demand of construction enterprises are summarized into five dimensions:politics,economy,society,culture and environment.Combined with the four types of social responsibility of construction enterprises,the theoretical framework model of demand for social responsibility of construction enterprises in countries along the line is constructed.Secondly,the corresponding indicators of different dimensions are selected at the national level,and the empirical research is carried out by using cluster analysis and judgment analysis.The results show that,based on the different influence of the five dimensions under the specific institutional background of different countries,the countries along the Belt and Road can be divided into five types of social responsibility demand countries: "quality type","comprehensive type","risk type","traditional type" and "economic type".Finally,at the micro level,combined with the stakeholder theory,identify the content of the social responsibility needs of construction enterprises by many stakeholders under the framework of the countries along the route,and build a framework model of the needs of the countries along the route for the social responsibility of construction enterprises.Through the content analysis,the sample countries’ demand preference for social responsibility is compared with the performance of China’s overseas construction enterprises’ social responsibility,so as to obtain the sample countries’ demand perception preference for the specific practice content of China’s overseas construction enterprises’ social responsibility,and then adjust the implementation strategy of China’s overseas construction enterprises’ social responsibility.The research results not only provide a reference basis for Chinese overseas construction companies to formulate appropriate social responsibility strategies based on the needs and preferences of the countries along the "Belt and Road" for social responsibility of construction enterprises,and to perform their social responsibilities more appropriately.At the same time,it is of great significance to enhance the adaptability of Chinese construction companies in overseas construction,enhance their overseas market position,establish a good national image,and create a national brand of "China Construction". |
