Holistic Design Research Of Shared Space In Haikou Arcaded Streets

As a typical representative of the culture of the hometown of overseas Chinese in Hainan,the Haikou Arcade Complex is the best witness of Hainanese people going to Southeast Asia,and it is a concentrated expression of local folk customs.In the context of the new era,how to enhance the cultural activity of the old arcade street,better display the regional characteristics of Hainan,and let people obtain good emotional sustenance is the focus of this article.This article focuses on the research on the construction and holistic design of the shared spaces in Haikou arcaded streets,and on the basis of in-depth study of related theories and research progress at home and abroad,it is perfected and supplemented.With the help of domestic and foreign documents and excellent cases,explore the current research status of shared spaces in historical districts.Through field research,we can understand the current situation of the entrance,sign system,rest facilities,cultural display and other spatial elements in the shared space of Haikou arcaded streets,and find out what causes the cultural activity of Haikou arcaded streets reasons for not strong,loss of regional characteristics,and poor emotional experience.According to the preliminary research,under the theoretical guidance of the people-oriented principle and the principle of sustainable development,the three aspects of block cultural heritage,architectural facade decoration,and Haikou regional environment are taken as the entry points for the holistic design,and the space design strategy is proposed: perfect foundation Facilities,add activity nodes;increase multi-dimensional interaction,enrich sensory experience;promote the humanities of the neighborhood,and create a regional landscape.In addition,the three activity nodes distributed in Bo’ai North Road,arcaded streets are used to create a shared space,and the design practice of the shared spaces in arcaded streets is carried out according to the holistic design strategy to create a pleasant,active,and humanistic shared space.In order to enhance the cultural activity of arcades,show the regional characteristics of Hainan,and create a good emotional space.The old arcade street in Haikou is the city’s business card representing Haikou on the outside,and people’s memory and soul on the inside.How can we do a good job in the protection and inheritance of these historical and cultural resources,revive the cultural vitality of Haikou arcaded streets,and better serve Hainan’s economic development? This is a topic we should think about.
