In order to alleviate the increasing urban traffic pressure,protect the smooth flow of traffic in the central urban areas of large and medium-sized cities,ensure the efficient operation of medium and long-distance rapid transportation within the city,and rationally transition the transformation of internal and external traffic in the city,all large and medium-sized cities in China are currently actively promoting urban The construction and development of the express loop,how to determine the scale of the express loop,how to arrange the corridors,which express loop construction type to choose,how to choose the type of express loop node interchange,how to arrange the entrance and exit,etc.,Has become a key issue in the rapid loop planning and design.Therefore,it is very necessary to carry out research on the design of urban express loop.First,this paper discusses the source of the urban express loop,reviews the development process of the express loop in major cities at home and abroad,analyzes the core function of the express loop in the urban road network system,and studies the traffic characteristics of the express loop And the principle of corridor layout.Then,the paper summarized the determination of the construction scale of the express loop,classified the construction types of the express loop,and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of each type of construction and the scope of application.From the perspective of driving safety and traffic capacity,The number of lanes and lane widths of the express loop are analyzed.In order to improve the public interest of the express loop,six BRT setting methods are proposed.Furthermore,the thesis summarizes the four common types of rapid loop node interchanges,analyzes their advantages and disadvantages,and gives corresponding improvement measures,studies the principles of entrance and exit settings,and gives the calculation method and results of the minimum distance.Finally,based on the characteristics and background of Hohhot,a design study of the Hohhot Third Ring Expressway was carried out.
