Slogan of 2010 Expo Shanghai is "Better city, Better Life",although it seems that the city may not make life better, as it is not the same somehow while discussing about a positive logic of city existence and a good way of life. However, it is essential to solve the problems of how to create a favorable city image, how to strengthen and en-hance the urban charm and how to make an active and effective consideration of cities and urban problems on the base of existence of the urban context, the urban expansion and the premiseIn this article, in the background of the global city status, based on the deformity of current pan-city landmark building status, uncontrolled urban expansion and conver-gence of so-called "globalization, internationalization" of urban character and urban image, the author focus on the competing "boom" of worldwide landmarks in all dif-ferent types and levels of cities as the study opportunity, and expand comprehensive analysis on the landmark, the landmark buildings, the city and the urban image and tries to explore benign landmarks as the necessary existence of positive city nodes, necessary period involved and possible types from a point of view of typology and try to draw relative conclusions. Meanwhile, research and organize the city, try to re-search the type of city image and city; and based on the research of nodes and cities and the premise of existence of given cities, and then make a further explosion of the types of nodes and types of cities in the possibility and necessity of control between the relationship, thinking about positive interaction models; also, because of the in-evitability of different types of the stage the author tries to deduce a new type of node, building and city.
