Commemorativeness is an eternal and classic proposition.City memorials often embody,carry and express the historical and cultural characteristics of a city,and are the place where the city’s spiritual demands are placed.In the rapid development of Chinese cities in recent decades,these urban monumental buildings and space venues face challenges such as inconsistent commemorative styles,incongruous atmospheres,insufficient display area and lack of functions.This paper attempts to use "atmosphere" as a key word to explore strategies for creating an.atmosphere in an existing memorial spac e.The thesis is mainly divided into three parts:Chapters 1 and 2 are mainly to sort put and discuss.the research background and methods,and related theoretical context;The third chapter is inspired by relevant theories to further discuss the changes in the atmosphere in the existing place,and proposes a framework for observing the atmosphere;Chapter 4 takes the renovation and renewal project of Hubei-Henan-Anhui Soviet Area Revolution Museum as an example,and conducts in-depth thinking and research on the renovation and renewal of the existing commemorative space guided by the creation of the atmosphere.
