The Influence Of Supply Chain Complexity On The Performance Of Supply Chain Enterprises

Manufacturing is a pillar industry that enhances the country’s comprehensive competitiveness.For manufacturing companies,excellent supply chain control capabilities are often the key to their success.For industries with large and complex supply chains such as automobiles and mobile phones,Even more so.On the one hand,more and more studies have shown that the complexity of the supply chain is becoming the enemy of enterprise supply chain management.As the scale of the enterprise increases,its supply chain becomes more and more complex.At this time,the cost of supply chain management Will significantly increase,and then affect the performance level of supply chain companies.On the other hand,influenced by factors such as rapid technological iterations and rapidly changing market environments,building agile supply chains has increasingly become the consensus of enterprises.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the influence of supply chain complexity on the performance of supply chain enterprises from the perspective of constructing agile supply chain,so as to help enterprises control their supply chain complexity and construct agile supply chain.This article takes automobile manufacturing companies as the research object and studies the impact of supply chain complexity on the performance of supply chain companies from the perspective of building agile supply chains.On the basis of the existing authoritative research,combined with the research purpose,this paper constructs a structural equation model with the internal complexity of the supply chain,the external complexity of the supply chain,the agility of the supply chain,and the performance of the supply chain enterprise as potential variables.The questionnaire data of middle-level and above personnel in automobile manufacturing companies and some objective data of the company are used as samples to verify the model.The empirical results show that:(1)From the perspective of building agile supply chains,the increase in supply chain complexity will directly reduce the supply chain Enterprise performance will also indirectly reduce the performance of supply chain enterprises by inhibiting supply chain agility.(2)Supply chain agility,as a framework indicator of the entire supply chain’s complex system,significantly positively affects the performance of supply chain enterprises,and is restrained by the internal and external complexity of the supply chain.(3)The external complexity of the supply chain,as a derivative endogenous motivation that is extremely related to the internal complexity of the supply chain,has its own unique influence in addition to the same characteristics as the internal complexity of the supply chain.In other words,the influence of the external complexity of the supply chain is stronger than the internal complexity of the supply chain.Finally,this paper analyzes the significance and Enlightenment of the research conclusions for the complexity management of enterprise supply chain,and puts forward specific suggestions for automobile enterprises according to the research conclusions,and also puts forward the future research prospects according to the limitations of the research.
