In 2013,China proposed the construction of the "New Silk Road Economic Belt".In response to the call, domestic power generation enterprises started the industrial layout in the countries along the Belt and Road. The period for China’s comparative advantage conversion is arriving,it is the key time that China will rise as an emerging power, and also is the period of adjustment of the international structure. The international situation is facing a "hundred-year change",with opportunities and challenges coexisting. In this context,China’s power generation enterprises will accelerate the overseas layout, continue to increase overseas investment, and actively participate in international competition.According to the basic theory of international competitiveness for enterprises, the development status and characteristics of power industry and power generation enterprises, based on the principle of balanced scorecard, the evaluation index system of international competitiveness for power generation enterprises is constructed from four dimensions in this paper: finance, customers, internal operation, learning and growth. We select seven power generation enterprises in the forefront of the world’s top 500 as research objects, and use the entropy weight method, objectively assign the index weight, and constructing a comprehensive evaluation model of the international competitiveness for power generation enterprises. We use this model for comprehensive rating on the research objects, and take the example of H Group in China to compare with six other power generation enterprises. We summarize the strengths and weaknesses of H Group in terms of international competitiveness, and combine the typical cases of benchmark enterprises. Finally,we put forward the countermeasures and suggestions to enhance the international competitiveness of H Group.
