Research On The Practice Of "in-situ" Renewal Of Urban Historic Buildings

The excellent historical buildings in a city are an vital media for people to understand and learn about the local history,culture and civilization,which can fully demonstrate the unique local characteristics and folk traditions of the city.Since the 1990 s,with the rapid development of urbanization process in China,many excellent historical buildings in the city have been ruthlessly demolished due to disrepair,loss of building functions,repeated reconstruction and expansion,backward facilities and serious regional economic backwardness.The problem of“convergence” of Chinese urban architecture is becoming more and more serious,the research on the renewal and practice of “In-situ” of urban historical buildings is based on the in-depth analysis and discussion on the basis of the phenomenon of “convergence” of cities.In contemporary China,due to the rapid development of China’s cultural industry and the improvement of people’s attention to historic buildings,a series of methods to revive and reuse historical buildings have emerged,such as building restoration,relocation and reconstruction,and the combination of historical buildings and modern commerce.Whether these methods are suitable for the revival and reconstruction of contemporary historical buildings is also a major topic worthy of our in-depth discussion.Taking Jinan Commercial Port District as an example,Jinan as the first batch of Chinese inland cities to open commercial ports since 1904,has a continuous urban culture.Based on field investigations and literature surveys,this article investigates and analyzes historical architectural examples in Jinan Commercial Port District.At the same time,it uses In-situ-related concepts as the theoretical basis and draws on the concept of place theory and urban imagery to analyze the value element composition of historical buildings.Systematically classify and sort out the principles of value transformation and remodeling of historical buildings in the process of renewal and reconstruction.Explore the peculiarities of historical buildings in Jinan commercial port area,as well as the regional characteristics and historical and cultural value of Jinan commercial port area,find the "combination point" between “in-site” value and renovation of historical buildings,and discuss how to realize the local construction of historical building value in the renewal and continuation.Through actual case investigations,and in-depth discussion of the protection strategy of contemporary historical buildings "relocation and reconstruction",try to make the "In-situ" Renaissance strategy of historical buildings a common path for the reconstruction and renovation of historical buildings in the future.To realize the real sense of identity and belonging of urban residents to the local historical buildings,and promote the coordinated development of modern urban historical buildings and cultural industries.
