With the rapid development of science and technology,the man-machine interaction in automobiles is gradually enriched,and the on-board HMI system undertakes various interactive tasks such as touch,voice,gestures and eye movements.HMI interface is the main driving information display platform of automobile,which is closely related to the sense of driving comfort and safety,and the sense of interior luxury and technology.Color has the most visual impact,so the design of color is an important part in interface design.Therefore,it is significance to explore the perception and evaluation of vehicle HMI interface color.In this paper,eye movement experiment and personal color preference analysis are used to discover the samples of the users’ favorite car HMI interface,and color analysis is carried out on the selected sample interface from multiple angles.According to the analysis results,we could make optimized samples,and user’s evaluation feedback is collected to verify the experimental results.This research combines objective and subjective evaluation,which makes the evaluation results more convincing and can also provide reference for enterprise evaluation.This paper includes the following four parts:(1)Related theoretical research: Color principle and theory;CCS color system;Application and development of eye movement test;Method for extracting main color of image;Semantic difference method,etc.(2)Market research and analysis: We collected a large number of samples of automobile instruments and central control interfaces in recent years,and the color design of automobile HMI interface(instrument interface and central control panel interface)was induced.The color matching rule and main style characteristics of automobile interface were analyzed,and60 pictures of automobile HMI interface were selected as research samples.(3)Color perception experiment: In the part of eye movement experiment,we used Tobii Pro Glasses2 wearable eye movement instrument to test the color of the HMI interface samples,including outputting eye movement data such as eye movement trajectory map,hot spot map and AOI interest area fixation time,and we analyzed and verified the accuracy of eye movement data.In addition,it is necessary to analyze the color of the user portraits provided by the subjects,so as to obtain the users’ favorite interface color and styles.(4)Subjective evaluation of color: According to the color perception experiment,we made the sample of vehicle HMI interface,and we used the semantic method to determine a plurality of antisense perceptual word pairs which can evaluate color,such as dull-lively,tedious-concise,and then we used the quantitative questionnaire survey method.Finally,through the analysis of drawn line charts and radar charts,we can more intuitively see the different color feelings brought by different evaluation samples,so as to judge whether the self-made samples get positive feedback from users.In this paper,we could use the method of eye movement experiment,user portrait and questionnaire analysis to research the user’s perception of the color of the vehicle HMI interface,which can improve the aesthetic experience of the user’s interface color and provide some reference for designers and enterprises to improve and perfect the HMI interface color evaluation process.
