| Color plays a significant role in the information coding of human-computer interfaces. The appropriate color application can not only enhance the effectiveness of information but also improve the aesthetics of the interface. However, for a long time, since many scholars have studied the research on color visual perception from different perspectives, various theories and concepts are mixed and lack systematic integration. As a result, the designers find it difficult to design color schemes for human-computer interfaces. The purpose of the thesis is to combine various perceptual factors into a color system by applying different color theory, and to help designers achieve optimal color schemes in human-computer interfaces.Based on the theory of visual perception layering, the thesis can be divided into the following parts.Firstly, the thesis introduces the mechanism of visual perception layering and the research foundation in color cognition.Secondly,on the one hand, the thesis forms a layering structure of the color system by combing different principles of color validity. On the other hand,by integrating the theory of color harmony into the layering structure, the thesis finally constructed a color system on graphic coding.Thirdly, psychological experiments are adopted to explore the perceptual effect of characters on achromatic and colored backgrounds, and the results provide quantitative data for the division of visual layering.Besides,by integrating the principles of color validity and color harmony,a character-background color system is also constructed.Fourthly, based on the two sets of color systems,by building up the relationship between color attributes and information attributes,a set of palette models and interactive design methods for the human-computer interfaces are built. Finally, according to the framework of the palette, the color scheme of the water supply SCADA interface was optimized. The eye movement experiment as well as the subjective evaluation proves the optimized color scheme is superior to the original scheme in terms of color validity and harmony. The results verify the effectiveness and reliability of the palette and also prove the rationality of the color system based on visual perception layering. |
