Research On The Early Architectural Detail Morphology Of Hunan University

Architectural detail is an important way to restore the architect’s design ideas and explain the internal relations among materials,structures and forms.The early architecture of Hunan University is an important model in the process of China’s transformation from traditional to modern.Its detailed design is of great significance to the study of modern Huxiang architects’ architectural thoughts,the protection and reuse of early buildings in Hunan University,and the research on the characteristics of architectural details in the transitional period of modern China.However,most of the studies on the early architecture of Hunan University are from the macro perspective The research on detail design is less.In 2013,"early buildings of Hunan University" was successfully declared as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units,and in 2017,it was selected into the second batch of China 20 The century architectural heritage highlights the cultural significance and historical value of the early buildings of Hunan University,and puts forward higher requirements for the repair and protection technology of buildings.Hunan University has carried out a new round of protection and repair for the existing early buildings on campus.The decorative layers and structures that need to be transformed and replaced are disassembled,and the process and practice of architectural details can be seen intuitively.In 2019,a series of architectural academic forums and exhibitions were held for the 90 th anniversary of Hunan University’s architecture discipline.The "construction-Liu Dunzhen and Liu Shiying Hunan University Campus Architecture Exhibition" held in China Academy Museum exhibited the design drawings sealed up by Hunan University Archives,providing the most original materials for the early architectural detail research of Hunan University.In view of the promotion of the cultural significance and historical value of the early architecture of Hunan University,the improvement of the technical requirements for building repair and protection,and the need to analyze the architect’s creative ideas from the perspective of detail,this paper takes the 90 th anniversary of Hunan University’s architectural discipline to open the original early architectural drawings as the opportunity,combined with architectural typology theory,field survey and mapping to carry out the early architectural details of Hunan University State study.This study focuses on the roof,body and foundation of the early buildings of Hunan University.By analyzing the morphological characteristics of the main architectural detail design and combing the relationship between the detailed design,it is found that the early architectural detail design of Hunan University follows the design principles of 1)dialectical unity of form and content,2)organic coordination of part and whole,3)mutual restriction of construction and structure It has experienced the evolution from perceptual cognition to rational thinking.From the initial simplification and imitation of traditional architectural details of the East and the west,to the innovation of the combination of modern architectural design techniques with basic national conditions and traditional culture,it presents the design features of 1)regional adaptation,2)integration of China and the west,3)geometric construction,4)detailed linkage,5)repetition of motif,6)combination of dynamic and static,7)modern implicit,8)complicated and simple It implies that 1)from tradition to modernity,2)from imitation to innovation,3)from emotion to reason.The rules,characteristics and evolution of the early architectural details of Hunan University reveal that under the social background of complex national conditions,weak foundation and complex and changeable social ideology,architects studying in Japan combine modern architectural design techniques with traditional architectural details,and take the road of modernist architectural creation with Chinese characteristics,so as to build buildings suitable for China’s national conditions,regional climate and local conditions The exploration of characteristic modern architecture is of great significance to the further development of modernism practice in China.
