The Engine Room Monitoring And Alarm System Based On PLC And LabVIEW For Oil Tanker

The engine room monitor and alarm system is an important part of marine engine room automation system which is mainly used tomonitor the operation conditions of all equipment in the engine roomcentrally.It can monitor the operation status and parameters of the equipmentaccurately and continuously.Once a fault occurs,the engine room monitor and alarm system will send out sound and light alarms automatically to inform the personnel on the ship,simultaneously the diagnosed status will be displayed on the monitoring screen.Therefore personnel can find the potential safety hazards of equipment and eliminate threats in time.Based on the function analysis for oil tanker,a new kind of engine room monitor and alarm system for oil tanker is designed creatively by using S7-1200 and LabVIEW.The hardware and software designing schemes and their implementation methods are introduced.The hardware composition of the system and the function of its components are expounded in detail,and the selection rules and related drawings are given.Meanwhile this paper briefly introduces the programming environment TIA and LabVIEW,and expounds the main functions,implementation methods and debugging methods of the software.The debugging results show that the new engine room monitor and alarm system meets the design requirements and achieves the expected goals greatly.
