Engine Room Monitoring And Alarm System is a important part of marine automation, it is mainly responsible for monitoring, controlling and managing the main engine, power plants, generators and other engine room power equipment, and protects the safe and efficient operation of ship. With the development of automation and information technology, put forward higher requirements in terms of intelligent, information, integration.This paper started the hardware and software design of the Engine Room Monitoring And Alarm System for the Engine Room Monitoring Alarm System application requirements, combined with the reliability characteristics of the CAN bus and around the distributed unit and upper man-machine interface of the Engine Room Monitoring And Alarm System.On the hardware side, it designs the hardware circuit of the distributed unit with16-bit Infineon microcontroller is its controller, CTM1050module is the CAN transceiver. In the design process, in order to strengthen the modular design, it realizes the signal acquisition of pressure, PT100, thermocouples, digital signal acquisition and so on with use of the MCU module and the signal acquisition module, and on this basis, it designs the dual CAN interface circuit and made the key analysis and research on interference problem to ensure the reliability of the CAN bus in harsh environments.On the software side, it completes the data acquisition and processing of the distributed unit, proposed the communication scheme based on redundant CAN bus, and on this basis, it completes the distribution of the CAN message identifier and The formulation of the communication mode. The upper man-machine interface achieves the monitoring And management of a large number of system data with the use of LabVIEW with Access database: the tables of Alarm History and Sensor Information are created to manage this data, the sensor values and alarm data can be displayed, stored and queried to realize real-time monitoring of the system by Database Connectivity Toolkit in the LabVIEW. It also designs the remote download of the code based on XC2267CAN BSL mode in order to facilitate the maintenance of the system and let developer make the download of the code and parameter of those distributed units in the engine room.Finally, this paper complete some hardware and software design and realize the signal acquisition of PT100, thermocouples, digital and so on, these signal are transmitted to the upper man-machine interface via the CAN bus and they are displayed and managed by the upper man-machine interface.
