On the electronic era of Automobile components,the requirement of air quality also become more and more stringent as well as environment protection compliance.Emission of automobile exhaust is major factor to affect the air quality.So the legislation and regulation of exhaust emission became more and more strict.The accuracy of control system also need be treated carefully to meet the requirement.Therefore,emission control of vehicle exhaust must be integrated with engine management system.It is necessary to develop a complex and comprehensive control system for exhaust emission control.FC Company is a leader company on emission control technology which already achieved great success on incremental innovation.For example,market share is one third and higher profit rate than that of competitors.With the implementation of China IV emission legislation(national wide)and China V emission regulation(Beijing),FC company determined to develop new generation emission control system(AD program)for future legislation based on the market and macro environment protect context.But there is no maturity breakthrough program management system on FC Company.The improvement is necessary in order to enhance the success rate of AD program.This thesis depicted the breakthrough innovation definition and management,the knowledge of program management and phase management of breakthrough innovation based on above industrious situation and FC Company status.Then this thesis compared the application of incremental innovation and breakthrough innovation in the company and synthesized innovation integration model including management process,organizational context and innovation resource.Management process splits into five phases which are prospection,ideation,strategy development,resource mobilization and implementation.Organizational context includes innovation culture,organization structure and governance and external network and innovation contains financial resource,infra-structure resource and intangible resource.This thesis analyzed classic company case of breakthrough innovation management.This thesis presented the defect and system deficiencies of innovation project management in FC company after comparing with project management of FC breakthrough innovation project management of FC Company,A company,B company and C company.Based on above analysis,this thesis inferred the below conclusions through the study of breakthrough innovation management:1.Descripted the importance of the study of breakthrough innovation on the emission control industries and the necessity that FC Company need improve the breakthrough innovation management.2.Consolidated the definition of breakthrough innovation,management phase of breakthrough innovation and the typical nine categories knowledge of program management through collecting,reading and analyzing the data and papers on breakthrough innovation management3.Compared the management of innovation and make integration model of breakthrough innovation after analyzing the information via interviewing and collecting,meanwhile,the innovation management of typical company also was analyzed.4.Considering the integration model and typical cases of breakthrough innovation,the suggestions of improvement on breakthrough innovation management were presented and the improvement analysis was implemented through AD control system project which is breakthrough innovation on FC Company.Breakthrough innovation management is a complex process which need integrate the market demand excluding project management knowledge to define technology innovation vision,to adapt the innovation process through different internal organization context,to provide the sufficient resource,to present completed management procedure and key performance index.The governance committee shall make phase evaluation,assessment and adjustment via those five aspects which are the vision,the resource,the organization,the SMART KPI and maturity procedures in order to govern breakthrough innovation and create the profit for company.
