The rapid development of economy and the improvement of urbanization level drive the rapid and vigorous development of China’s construction industry. There is a phenomenon of industrial agglomeration in the construction industry. The construction industry chain is long, which has a far-reaching impact on the national economy and plays a great role in urban green development.Analyzing the impact of construction industry agglomeration on China’s green total factor productivity will help to improve the level of economic greening and the development of urban modernization.Industrial agglomeration improves the productivity of the industry by means of specialization and scale effect; It can also bring about the development of related industries through externality.Under the background of high-quality economic development, the exploration of industrial agglomeration focuses on the quality of economic growth and its impact on the ecological environment. Therefore, this paper selects the spatial panel data of 30 provincial regions in China from 2009 to 2018 to study the impact of China’s construction industry agglomeration on green total factor productivity based on spatial Dobbin model.Based on the data of China’s Provincial Construction Development from 2009 to 2018 and introducing spatial factors, this paper first explains the concepts of industrial agglomeration, construction agglomeration and green total factor productivity, and arranges the relevant theories and literature.Secondly, the location entropy is used to measure the agglomeration degree of China’s construction industry, and explain the current situation and development trend of China’s construction agglomeration. The SBM-ML model is used to calculate the green total factor productivity including unexpected output, and the GTFP and its decomposition index are obtained.Thirdly,it analyzes the mechanism of construction industry agglomeration on green total factor productivity,so as to provide theoretical guidance for empirical research. Finally, based on the construction of spatial Dobbin model, this paper empirically tests the impact of construction industry agglomeration on green total factor productivity and spatial spillover effect, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)In terms of construction industry agglomeration,my country’s construction industry has maintained a high degree of agglomeration during the study period. From the perspective of location,Zhejiang Province has the highest degree of agglomeration of construction industry. The degree of agglomeration of the construction industry in Guangdong Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has grown steadily, and the development momentum of the construction industry has been strong. However, the overall level of agglomeration has shown a downward trend;in terms of green total factor productivity, during the sample period,China’s green total factor productivity has obvious spatial correlation;the green total factor productivity of all provinces has basically achieved a growth state, and green total factor productivity is in the provincial There is a big difference between the level and the provincial level.(2)The agglomeration of the construction industry has a significant positive impact on green total factor productivity, and the impact has an obvious spatial spillover effect, and the green total factor productivity in the surrounding areas is promoted to a certain extent, thereby improving;(3)Manpower Capital level, foreign investment level, economic development level and energy productivity have a significant positive effect on green total factor productivity, while urbanization level, environmental regulation, and total income of construction enterprises have a significant negative impact on green total factor productivity.Based on the above conclusions, suggestions are put forward: we should grasp the law of provincial spatial correlation, promote the green and coordinated development of regional buildings, optimize the allocation of resources, scientifically deploy the construction industry, and introduce high-quality construction enterprises;Reasonably guide the agglomeration of the construction industry and the development of the green economy;Support the technological innovation of construction enterprises to achieve green production;improve the quality of employees in the construction industry, and convert human capital into actual productivity in various regions;and promote the improvement of green total factor productivity from the aspects of opening to the outside world, energy consumption and economic development level.
