Vehicle emission pollution has become one of the main sources of air pollution increasingly.In order to find out the current motor vehicle emission situations of typical tourism cities,the relationship between the vehicle emission and the regional air quality,this paper choose the tourism cities Guilin,Hangzhou,Xiamen and Shaoxing,non-tourism city Wuhan as study objections,uses the VKT emission inventory approach as the methodology,refers to <The Technical Guide of Motor Vehicle Air Pollution Emission Inventory Compilation> method leads to the study of each cities’ emission inventory.The elements of motor vehicle emission factor,as well as the motor vehicle ownership and annual mileage travelled,road traffic situation and total road mileage are studied and expand the common access way to all type of activity level data.This paper set Guilin as the key object,especially demonstrates the use of VKT approach and source density approach applied to Guilin urban vehicle emission inventory development.In the application of source density approach which applied to Guilin city,chose 9 typical urban expressways,74 main roads plus 74 branch roads,total 157 roads,adopt manual counting method for different vehicle type of traffic flow calculation under the principle of time-sharing section;the team also visited the local departments like vehicle management department,meteorological bureau,environmental monitoring station to get the related data.Finally,calculated a sum of 157 roads pollutant emissions,get the annual emission result of CO: 2586.06 tons,VOCs: 961.38 tons,NOx: 1931.25 tons,PM2.5:55.97 tons,PM10: 55.976 tons;mapped the city’s pollution time distribution diagrams and the pollution space distribution diagrams.As to the other cities,besides using literature method,also looking up last ten years motor vehicle ownership data from each cities’statistics bureau websites,classified the vehicle environment standard group by the year of registration etc.,successfully get their final emission inventory separatory.Turn to the part of emission factors,both instrument measurement method and emission factor model method are studied in this paper,two methods’ research progress and their application conditions also included.By the way,this paper studied all modification factors from <The Technical Guide of Motor Vehicle Air Pollution Emission Inventory Compilation>which was used in China and also was treated as the theory guide of this paper’s VKT emission factor confirmation and calculation.The VKT study result of Hangzhou,Xiamen,Shaoxing,Guilin and Wuhan are: CO annual emission: 85397.21 tons,57259.72 tons,37048.06 tons,7239.46 tons and51499.28 tons;VOCs annual emission: 32305.42 tons,17733.12 tons,17133.86 tons,2006.79 tons and 31901.97 tons;NOx annual emission:44406.16 tons,24774.90 tons,11814.77 tons,8759.53 tons and 22736.15tons;PM2.5 annual emission: 1430.79 tons,698.84 tons,339.73 tons,270.51 tons and 568.47 tons;PM10 annual emission: 1583.94 tons,772.84 tons,373.10 tons,300.08 tons and 623.86 tons.Based on each city’s motor vehicle emission inventory and their air quality correlation analysis,the result roughly tells that: Hangzhou,Xiamen,Shaoxing and Wuhan’s CO and PM2.5 motor vehicle emissions are negatively correlated with the air quality,and 4 cities’ NOx,PM10 motor vehicle emissions are positively correlated with the air quality.Wuhan and Xiamen’s four pollutants CO,NOx,PM2.5 and PM10 are deviated from the trend line,speculates that Wuhan’s air quality may be affected by other higher weighted emission sources,meanwhile Xiamen benefit from its coastal islands environment which provides good atmosphere diffusion conditions.Generally,motor vehicle emission is one of the major pollution sources in regional air quality.
