The number of motor vehicles in China has grown rapidly in the past decades, and the emission caused by motor vehicle has received more attention. The serious primary energy consumption, coupled with pollution emitted by tremendous vehicle in the Guanzhong region, has led to total contaminants exceeding environmental capacity. The Guanzhong region has referred as one of the essential pollution prevention and control regions by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China,in 2018.Motor vehicle emissions inventory and its temporal and spatial distributions are fundamental data for studying regional pollution prevention and control, distinguishing major pollution sources, and clarifying pollution characteristics. Therefore, this paper aimed at providing researched the vehicle emissions inventory and its spatial and temporal distribution in Guanzhong region, and analyzing the vehicle pollution control strategy in the capital city of Shannxi Province. The research results are as follows:(1)Based on the MOVES model, combined actual measurement with the literature review, localized and corrected the input parameters of MOVES model,Consequentially, vehicle pollutant emissions inventory was achieved in Guanzhong region in 2017.In Consequence, the PM2.5,PM10,CO,NOX,SO2,VOCS,NH3,EC and OC emitted of motor vehicles were 3.96×103 t,4.25×103 t,621.86×103 t,73.65×103 t,0.21×103 t,28.08×103 t,1.35×103 t,1.28×103 t,1.43×103 t,respectively;the remaining contaminants, such as CO2,CH4,Benzene,Formaldehyde,Acetaldehyde,Acrolein and 1,3-Butadiene were35708.9×103t,6.93×103t,0.96×103t,1.19×103t,0.44×103t,0.06×103t,0.08×103t,respectively.(2)Within Guanzhong region, the PM2.5,PM10,NOX and VOCS emitted from heavy-duty trucks in total vehicle emissions were 61.63%,61.49%,44.62%and 26.55%,respectively,as well as aldehyde contributed more than 40%.The contribution of pollution emissions from heavy-duty truck to the haze and ozone pollution is significantly higher than that of other type of vehicles.(3)Four pollution control scenarios by restricted motor vehicles, improved fuel standards, eliminated old cars and improved traffic structure, were designed for Xi’an to control vehicle emissions. The results showed that:the traffic restriction would reduce PM obviously more than 5%;the reduction of PM,NOX,VOCS by eliminated old cars all above44%.
