Baibao inlay is a kind of decoration technique that inlays a variety of precious materials on the surface of utensils after polishing and carving.Material is the combination of material and texture,the carrier and source of beauty of Baibao inlay.In this paper,through the theoretical framework of material aesthetic,the aesthetic characteristics of the "Tibetan into the treasure map vertical cabinet" of the Qing Dynasty are deeply analyzed,the aesthetic law is studied,and its practical significance for the traditional process innovation design is explored.Through the research of material aesthetic feeling,we can better understand the aesthetic law and aesthetic value of Baibao inlay,and at the same time,it has certain theoretical guidance significance for the inheritance and innovation of the traditional crafts including Baibao inlay at present.This subject takes the Baibao inlay embedded in the cabinet of the Qing Dynasty as the research object,takes the material aesthetic feeling as the starting point,and takes the aesthetic characteristics of the Baibao inlay of the cabinet as the research goal.The main research methods are literature research,investigation,comparison and comprehensive analysis.First of all,based on the related works and documents of scholars at home and abroad,the image data of the vertical cabinet and the data collected and compiled by the author,this paper summarizes the modeling features and production materials of the "vertical cabinet of the map of Tibetan people entering the treasure",The paper summarizes and explains the relevant concepts and characteristics of aesthetic feeling of materials in detail,which lays a theoretical foundation for the analysis of aesthetic feeling of Baibao inlay materials.Then according to the theoretical framework of material aesthetics,the paper analyzes and discusses the material aesthetics of Baibao inlay.Finally,from the analysis of the beauty of Baibao inlay materials,the paper sums up the performance principle of the beauty of materials in Baibao inlay,and combined with the contemporary classic design cases,explores the practical significance of the beauty of Baibao inlay materials to the innovative design of traditional technology,and draws the research conclusion.The research of this topic is divided into six parts: the first chapter is the introduction part.Firstly,it introduces the research background,research purpose,research significance and research methods,and defines the research object of this topic.Secondly,based on the literature review and field research,the author summarizes the general situation of the current research on the beauty of Baibao inlay materials,lists the research results of some scholars at home and abroad,and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the existing research results.In the second chapter,the basic concepts of the Ming and Qing Dynasties,such as the definition,development context and so on,are briefly summarized.Secondly,this paper analyzes and explains the creation background,modeling features and production materials of the Baibao inlay.The third chapter starts with the meaning of material,the relationship between material and aesthetic feeling,and the characteristics of aesthetic feeling of material.Firstly,the concept of aesthetic feeling of material is clearly defined,and then the relationship between material and aesthetic feeling is deeply explored in combination with ancient arts and crafts and modern design works.It is considered that material is the material basis,the object of expression,the medium of communication and the constraint condition of aesthetic feeling,and the characteristics of aesthetic feeling of material are analyzed with specific cases.It is considered that aesthetic feeling of material has four characteristics of naturalness,culture,artistry and technicality.The fourth chapter is the core chapter of the article.Based on the theoretical framework of the third chapter,this chapter deeply explains the material beauty of Baibao inlay in the Qing Dynasty’s "Tibetan entering the treasure map cabinet" from four aspects: the beauty of nature,the beauty of art,the beauty of craftsmanship and the beauty of culture,and points out their specific manifestation in the cabinet.In the fifth chapter,based on the analysis of the beauty of the materials in the vertical cabinet of the Qing Dynasty,the author summarizes the performance principles of the beauty of materials in the vertical cabinet.Combined with the classic design cases in recent years,the paper discusses its enlightenment to the traditional process innovation design.The sixth chapter draws the conclusion according to the previous research results,and summarizes and prospects the practical significance of material aesthetics in traditional process innovation design.
