A large number of diamonds are inlaid in popular ornaments by workers currently.However,it is very difficult to inlay due to the small size of diamond and it is easy to lead to the visual fatigue which can affect the health of workers by long-term inlay work.In addition,the cost of labor is increasing.Therefore,a kind of automatic inlay equipment for popular ornaments is put forward,and three key technologies which include automatic feeding technology,grasping and inlaying technology and control technology are studied in detail,so that the equipment can improve the automation of inlaying technology and the efficiency of production,lessen the labor intensity and reduce the cost of enterprises.First of all,the automatic feeding system is designed,which includes three parts: vibratory feeding part,sort and orientation part,detection part.The vibratory feeding part is used to supply the workpiece.After that,the sort and orientation part sorts and orientates the workpiece and then the sensor will send signal when workpiece reaches the specified position.Besides,Solidworks software is used for 3D modeling of automatic feeding system,and the speed of automatic feeding system is modeled and studied.The static analyses of key components are carried out by HYPERMESH and ANSYS software to verify the rationality of the design.A two degree of freedom grasping and inlaying manipulator is proposed.The manipulator takes the linear unite of synchronous belt as the mobile arm and the needle tube as the end effector.When the controller receives the feedback signal of detection part,the manipulator captures workpiece to the next station to inlay.The Solidworks software is used for 3D modeling of grasping and inlaying manipulator.The technologies of electric machinery and proximity switch are used to ensure the positioning accuracy of the manipulator.The controlling of automatic feeding system and grasping and inlaying manipulator is implemented,which takes CP1 E PLC of OMRON as the control core.It mainly includes machine's mode module,vibratory feeding module,sort and orientation module and manipulator module.Then experimental device of the automatic inlay equipment is installed and it is successfully debugged.Finally a large number of experiments are carried out to verify that the device can feed,grasp and inlay artificial diamond automatically,stably,accurately and rapidly in the laboratory.In the future,it is expected to meet the practical production requirements of enterprises.
