Research On The Direction Of Emotional Experience Design Of Cloth And Porcelain From The Perspective Of Material-Driven Design

In the context of experience economy and sustainable development,designers have more and more diverse perspectives on materials.They no longer focus on the physical properties of materials,but focus on exploring new properties of materials,such as sensory experience,environmental properties,material reconstruction,etc.At the same time,the position in the design is also changing quietly.It is no longer in the final stage of the design,as a supporting role to assist the design,but in the initial stage into the scope of consideration,used to broaden the design vision,and even with it as the center of the drive design process.Ceramic materials in China are still in a passive state in the field of design,and its application is often reflected in the glaze texture.Among them,cloth and porcelain materials used in the creation of contemporary ceramic art have been active in the field of ceramic art since their appearance,and have made some achievements in material exploration,but they have not been applied in the field of design.Based on the idea of material-driven design and led by material emotional experience,this paper explores the potential application direction of cloth and porcelain in the field of design,and provides new ideas for the development of ceramic design applications.This paper explores cloth and porcelain materials from the perspectives of material experiment and emotional experience.This paper is divided into four stages.In the first stage,the development,application and material characteristics of cloth and porcelain are understood through collecting,sorting out and translating relevant materials,and the commercial routes in line with the characteristics of cloth and porcelain are preliminarily predicted.In the second stage,after microscopic analysis of the variables influencing the material properties,the advantages and disadvantages of the material were repaired in the way of experiment,from the aspects of material composition and form,combined with different concepts,technologies and processing techniques,and the potential new properties and new forms of cloth and porcelain were explored.In the third stage,interviews and questionnaires were used to collect experiencers’ feedback on the experimental cloth and porcelain samples at the sensory,perceptual and emotional levels,observe the subconscious actions of the experiencers during the experience,analyze the reasons behind the actions from the psychological perspective,and serve as the reference material for predicting the design direction of cloth and porcelain.The fourth stage integrates the previous new concepts,new forms and new experiences of cloth and porcelain,and speculates the application direction of cloth and porcelain in the design field by combining biology,psychology and material science.Based on the above research,this paper predicts five experience design directions for cloth and porcelain,which are: green and sustainable experience design,time experience design,thinking experience design,healing experience design,and emotional experience design.This paper explores the potential of open-release porcelain in a multi-angle and cross-field way,enlarges the application range of materials,and breaks the original thinking stereotype of materials.As we all know,material change plays an important role in the process of human civilization,and the evolution of human art from concept to form is also closely connected with the change of art materials.Therefore,this idea of material crossover exploration can provide enlightenment for the development of the field related to daily ceramics.
