Tourism is not a "zero pollution" industry,people will inevitably consume certain natural resources in the process of tourism.The large amount of fossil fuel consumption will inevitably lead to the rapid emission of carbon dioxide,which will further aggravate the greenhouse effect.Over the past 40 years of reform and opening-up,China’s coastal regions have developed rapidly due to the advantages of good tourism resources and convenient transportation.At the same time,they have caused problems such as the continuous consumption of tourism resources and environmental damage.Therefore,studies on carbon dioxide emissions during tourism,eco-efficiency accounting of tourism and its changing laws and impact mechanisms can improve the environment,and promote the sustainable development of China’s tourism,it has important practice and guidance suggestions.Based on the environmental economics theory,sustainable development concept and life cycle assessment theory,this article uses the concept of total factors and uses the ecological efficiency evaluation method to measure the ecological efficiency of tourism in coastal areas of China,that is,in the evaluation process,the environment will be added to the input indicators influencing factors,which can comprehensively consider economic and environmental factors,and can scientifically evaluate the ecological efficiency of tourism in coastal areas of China.This paper uses the input-output model to measure the ecological efficiency of tourism in coastal areas of China,and then it also constructs a dynamic panel data model(GMM)to analyze its influencing factors.The details are as follows: The first part is the introduction,which mainly describes the research background and the latest developments at home and abroad.The second part mainly introduces related theories such as tourism sustainable development theory,environmental economics theory and life cycle assessment theory,defines the concepts of tourism carbon emissions,ecological efficiency and tourism ecological efficiency,and introduces the principle of data envelopment method(DEA).The third part uses the "top-down" method tomeasure the carbon emissions of tourism in China’s coastal areas,and uses data envelopment analysis to measure the ecological efficiency of tourism in China’s coastal areas.In order to explore the reasons for its changes,it is decomposed into pure technical efficiency and Scale efficiency.In the fourth part,the standard deviation and the coefficient of variation are used to analyze the general situation of the ecological efficiency of the tourism industry in China’s coastal areas,and the nuclear density method is used to explore the changing process of the ecological efficiency of the tourism industry in China’s coastal areas.Finally,the natural breakpoint method is used to divide it into high the four types of value areas,sub-high value areas,sub-low value areas and low value areas provide a more intuitive analysis of the spatial changes in the ecological efficiency of tourism in coastal areas of China.In addition,a spatial exploratory method is used to measure whether there is a spatial correlation between the ecological efficiency of tourism in coastal areas of China.The fifth part builds the traditional least squares(OLS)and dynamic panel data model(GMM),and analyzes the factors influencing the ecological efficiency of the tourism industry by using the stata15 software.The research shows that:(1)The carbon emissions from tourism in China’s coastal areas have increased year by year from 2007 to 2017,and the carbon emissions from tourism and transportation accounted for 85.12% of the total carbon emissions from tourism in coastal areas.(2)The average value of the ecological efficiency of the tourism industry in China’s coastal areas in2007-2017 is 0.900,with an average annual growth rate of 1.48%;the average value of China’s coastal areas in 2007-2017 is 1.007,and the average annual efficiency of 0.08% The speed is declining;the average scale efficiency of coastal areas in China from 2007 to 2017 is 0.893,and the average annual growth rate is 1.54%.The ecological efficiency of tourism in China’s coastal areas is affected by scale efficiency,and pure technical efficiency can improve the ecological efficiency of tourism in China’s coastal areas.(3)The difference in tourism eco-efficiency between 2007 and 2017 in China’s coastal regions is from expanded to narrowed.With the change of time,the number of regions with higher tourism eco-efficiency in China’s coastal regions gradually became larger than the number of lower regions after 2012,with a few years Spatial correlation.(4)The two variables of tourism technology level and tourism consumption level are positively correlated with tourism eco-efficiency.The two variables of tourism industry structure and the number of tourists are negatively correlated with tourism eco-efficiency.(5)Givesuggestions on ways to improve the ecological efficiency of tourism in coastal areas of China from the perspectives of tourists and tourism development departments.That is to enhance public awareness of low-carbon tourism,strengthen regional cooperation to improve management and technical efficiency,control the scale of tourism operations,rationalize the structure of the tourism industry,and reduce carbon emissions from transportation and accommodation.
