A Research On Sustainable Development Of Suzhou Urban Tourism Transport

Tourism transport is an import part in urban tourism system as well as urbantransport. They enjoy mutual promotion. In terms of urban tourism, the improvement ofurban tourism transport can offer tourists better experience, it can directly or indirectlyimprove tourists evaluation towards tourism service. In terms of urban transport, as onenecessary component of urban transport system, tourism transport has positive impacton meeting tourism transport demand as well as urban transport. Given that increasinglycountries have put sustainable development high on political agenda. China, as thebiggest developing country in the world, has realized the importance of sustainabletourism and transport. China has already made great achievement on sustainabledevelopment. However, it should be admitted that it still exists many problems andthere is a great gap between European countries and China in terms of sustainabletourism mobility.With introduction of sustainable development and sustainable tourism, this studywill discuss methodology for achieving sustainable tourism by referring to developedwest counties’ sustainable tourism framework. It will also analysis the relationshipbetween urban transport and urban tourism, then talk about framework of sustainabletourism transport. Additionally, this study will look at several domestic and oversea bestpractice, with objective analysis, it hopes that they might provide our country’s tourismtransport industry with some reference.At last but not at least, with a case study of Suzhou city, this study explores theways to improve sustainable tourism mobility in Suzhou. It is conducted within theframework of sustainable development, Windows SPSS has been adapted to analysistourists and local residents travel behavior in Suzhou. It has been found that there is asignificant difference in the choice of modes between local resident’s tourists andnon-local tourists. Moreover, comparing to daily mobility, local residents’ travelbehavior is varied from leisure-time travel. Additionally, in order to improve sustainabletourism transport in Suzhou, people’s attitudes towards sustainable tourism transportmeans is as important as the improvement of facilities.The significance of this study is as follows. First, the research of analysis oftourism travel behavior is our country’s weak point, this study will be supplement.Second, oversea study could be used as reference for further research. Third, the casestudy research findings might be helpful for tourism and transport policy makers as well as tourism transportation operators and tourist sights managers.
