Cooling fin is a quite important assembly unit in electronic equipment.It is the device for dissipating the heat generated by components in electric appliances.With the rapid changes in science and technology development,the demand for cooling finds is also rising.Besides,electronic equipment manufacturers use robots for automatic clamping,installing and welding of components and parts,higher requirements on the sizes of cooling fins and riveting pins have been proposed.For a long time,the production of cooling fins has had some problems,such as bad work environment,high labour intensity and low production efficiency.Based on extensive research on document literature,the paper focuses on studying the automation workstation of cooling fins and riveting pins.Firstly,it analyzes the structural features of cooling fins,summarizes the key factors according to the production of hand riveting,thereby identifying the main functional modules of automatic riveting,i.e.cooling fin feeding,pin feeding,automatic riveting and control system modules.Secondly,having compared multiple schemes,the paper selects the overall allocation of automation workstation,designs the feeding device,riveting device and discharging device,chooses models of pneumatic sensors and calculates the critical parts.Furthermore,centered on control,the electrical control system is designed,including control cabinet customization,PLC selection,program frame designing and programming.Then,having analyzed the vulnerabilities in mechanical structures of workstation,the finite element software ABAQUS is used to build the geometrical model of riveting punch,define the parameters,loading and constraint.The nephogram of stress and displacement is obtained by solving equations and safety analysis.Lastly,by installation and debugging in labs,as well as experiments on the production field,the paper finds out and resolves the issue of materials stuck in vibration disk and displacement of push pins,thereby optimizing the production process.According to experiments on workstation stability and tensile force of riveting,the design and development of workstation are successful,so as to achieve automatic production of cooling fins and riveting pins.Besides,it enhances product quality and production efficiency,improves the working conditions for laborers,reduces production costs and eliminates insecurity factors.
