Composites are widely used in the structural component assembly of modern aviation due to their superior properties such as high specific strength,high specific modulus,excellent fatigue-resistance as well as corrosion-resistance and many more.The weakness of composite structures lies in their connections,where 60%?80% structure failure occurs.The best way to connect composites is blind riveting while few reviews about aerial blind riveting equipment are reported domestically.There's currently not a single device available in China,most of them are in test stage.However,in this paper I will study on the nondestructive automatic blind riveting of composites to design and develop an automatic blind riveting device for robot.In this paper,I will firstly introduce the concept of blind riveting and the research status of automatic blind riveting device at home and abroad.A general design idea of automatic blind riveting device will be put forward and implemented via different modules.An automatic blind riveting device is a combination of pressure angle module,drilling module,camera module,riveting module,connecting and nailing module as well as mobile platform module.The device is multifunctional,capable of finding the right reference hole,drilling,detecting,transporting nails and riveting.Secondly,I will introduce the design of electrical system for the automatic blind riveting device,mainly including air pressure system design,the control of processing cycles of drilling and riveting,and software design for automatic blind riveting device.Finally I will debug and calibrate the automatic blind riveting device,and conduct a process experiment on it.I will research on the effect of spindle speed,feed rate and riveter pressure on automatic blind riveting.Parameters will be optimized on the basis of experiment and the efficiency and stability of automatic blind riveting will be improved.
