Design Of Multifunctional Luggage For The Aging Population

At the end of the last century,due to the influence of family planning policy and the gradual improvement of social and medical conditions,China's population began to enter the aging stage,so the design of senior products is also getting more and more attention.This project focuses on the improvement of the design of special luggage for the elderly.According to the research results in the early stage,the biggest problem faced by elderly people when they travel outside is safety,including fatigue,anxiety,and other factors that lead to elevated blood pressure or rapid heart rate and other potential geriatric diseases.In emergencies,forgetfulness,anxiety,and memory loss can occur,making it difficult to find documents,medications quickly,and other problems.Therefore,the multi-functional luggage design research of this topic is mainly aimed at solving the various practical problems encountered by elderly people when they travel outside,reducing the occurrence of safety problems through design,and better protecting the physical and mental safety of elderly people.This paper compares the history and current status of the development of luggage design and investigates and analyzes the existing luggage products.Based on the problems and needs presented by the questionnaire,we explore the improved design positioning of special luggage for the aging population so as to solve problems through design.Through the selection and comparison of multiple solutions,we determine the optimal solution.In the design process,we effectively use ergonomics theory,from the perspective of "humanized" design,according to the demand analysis,conceptual design,preliminary design,specific design,overall design,production,and production of six stages to complete the design plan.The innovative design of this topic is mainly reflected in three aspects:firstly,the design of the elderly luggage emphasizes the function of assistance and safety measures.In the luggage design,a freely detachable grip and expandable wheel(climbing wheel)are used to work together in order to achieve the purpose of hand-pushing the luggage forward with stability and labor-saving.The second in the design to increase the information transmission function,luggage can real-time monitoring of the elderly heart rate,when the heart rate is too high,it can timely alarm to reduce the probability of risk.The third is convenient storage.The luggage can achieve quick access to documents and medicines and avoid a series of safety problems caused by squatting up when the elderly turn over the box.Through this research,in order to reduce the physical burden of the elderly when traveling,reduce the safety risk of the elderly travel,and enhance the comfort of the elderly travel experience.
