The beauty of book binding design does not have an unchanging standard;it is constantly changing with each passing day to reveal new aesthetics and interests,so only conscious preservation and inheritance of national and ethnic culture can determine the "core" of modern design aesthetics.For a long time,the phenomenon of blind imitation and even plagiarism in Chinese book binding design has been very serious,and works that can consciously preserve,pass on and innovate traditional culture are still very rare.However,the emergence of some excellent book binding designs in recent years has not only inspired Chinese book binding designers,but also provided readers with a certain understanding of some outstanding designers.As one of the outstanding and representative designers in Asia,Mr.Lu Jingren from China has always emphasized the combination of traditional Chinese culture and techniques into modern book design,and his works can satisfy both modern aesthetics and strong ancient charm.During his design career,Jingren Lu traveled to Japan to study with the outstanding design master Kohei Sugiura,who was very passionate about traditional East Asian culture,especially Japanese and Chinese spiritual civilizations,graphics and elements,which led to the formation of his unique East Asian design system.He has also taught his students many times that they must pay attention to their own culture,which has largely influenced the new generation of designers.An Sang-soo,an outstanding designer from Korea,re-examined East Asian culture from the perspective of typography in his own designs,and created the colorful "An Style" font around the composite nature of Korean characters."Harmony and difference" is the mainstream thought in the world today,"Only the national is the world".Only by looking at traditional Chinese culture from a deeper perspective and exploring how it can be combined with new technology and design concepts can book binding design show its maximum charm.This article briefly discusses Chinese traditional culture.This article briefly discusses the development history of book binding in China,Japan and Korea,and analyzes the design ideas and typical works of three outstanding book designers in China,Japan and Korea through typical case studies and comparative research,and summarizes the understanding of the three book designers on the pursuit of modernity,the concept of inheriting traditional culture and the new design concept they should advocate,thus revealing that Chinese book binding design in the future should The three designers' understanding of the pursuit of modernity,the concept of inheriting traditional culture and the new design concept they should advocate are summarized,thus revealing the future direction of Chinese book binding design.
