By analyzing Feng Zikai's historical background, this thesis clears the direction of his art view and philosophy, then generalizes the features of his art of book decoration by sorting out his course of book layout design, and then arrives at a conclusion in Feng Zikai's influence on modern book decoration and gives an opinion on his art of book decoration.Though the expressive form of Feng Zikai's book decoration works is simple, the hyperbolic transmutative skill is using freely. They not only have Western painting's rigorous page aesthetic form, but also present the bookish of Chinese tradition. By means of taking variety in unity as his form principle, Feng Zikai puts book decoration's pictoriality with its ornamentality and pays much attention to book global design. Feng Zikai brings the simply poetic comic style into book decoration, opens a new way to the art of book decoration and pushes its development powerfully.
