The Study Of Book QI In Chinese Book Design

Since the introduction of western design, Chinese modern design has got a great deal of advancement. At the same time, the characteristics of the Chinese traditional culture were ignored in book design. Nowadays, more and more people are aware of the importance of this point that design should be regressed to the soil of national culture and should be an integration of the national traits and features of the age.Chinese book design has got a long history of more than 2000 years and has been pursuing book 'QI' as the art standard and national character. Construction of the Chinese book design system means a study of the traditional design and an analysis of the book 'QI'.Book 'QI' in book design is a result of many factors. Firstly, it is designer's diathesis and accomplishment in his era. Secondly, it is the knowledge culture of book. Thirdly, it is the 'QI' of book design and art and the headstream of Chinese book design and art.If the designer wants to construct the book 'QI', he'd better base on nature in designing form, graphics, color, material and typeface and then give life to the book, achieve a high level to make life as God does.
