Analysis Of Bird Motifs On Textiles In Tang And Song Dynasties

Throughout the history of Chinese arts and crafts,the bird motif is an important category of Chinese traditional patterns,and its evolution runs through the history of pattern development in China.The Tang and Song Dynasties were a special period of economic and cultural integration.Decorative patterns realized the transformation from the beginning to the modernization.In this heyday of silk production and trade,bird pattern attached to the weaving and embroidery decoration carried the characteristics of the Tang and Song Dynasties' economy,society,and culture.The bird pattern also embodies changes in Chinese history and aesthetic,which undergoes the transformation from the linked-pearl bird pattern to the realistic bird and flower pattern.This transformation reveals the process of inclusiveness,evolution and innovation of decorative arts in different historical environments.This thesis takes bird motifs on textiles in Tang and Song Dynasties as the research object,analyzes the current research status at home and abroad,and traces the origin and evolution of bird patterns in the East and the West based on documentary materials,museum materials,historical books,archaeological reports,etc.By tracing the respective development context of the East and the West before the cultural fusion,the main types of bird patterns before the Tang and Song dynasties are sorted out to provide a reference for analyzing the exchange and reference of decorative arts.Based on this,we sorted out the expression and modeling characteristics of bird motifs on the weaving embroidery in the Spring and Autumn,Qin and Han Dynasties,Wei and Jin Dynasties,in order to clarify the development basis of bird motifs in the Tang and Song Dynasties.Secondly,from archaeological reports,historical books and silk museums,Jingzhou Museum,Hunan Provincial Museum and other places,we collected 175 pieces of bird and bird motifs on embroideries of the Tang and Song dynasties,in order to inherit the patterns and emerging patterns to compare the birds and birds in the Tang and Song Dynasties for classification and analysis.And summarize the themes,modeling features,and composition forms of bird patterns in weaving embroidery in Tang and Song Dynasties,and analyze their commonalities and characteristics on this basis.Then combined with historical environment,social background,economic conditions,political etiquette and other factors,to interpret the cultural connotation and influencing factors of bird motifs in this period.Finally,based on the form characteristics and cultural heritage of bird patterns in the Tang and Song Dynasties,combined with the application cases of contemporary traditional bird patterns,explore the feasibility of innovative design schemes,and design a silk scarf pattern that organically combines tradition with the times.In order to provide inspiration for the inheritance and promotion of traditional culture.
