The patchwork is the clothing worn by ancient Chinese officials, and the patchwork pattern is mainly a square or circular silk fabric part embroidered on the front and back of the official dress during the Ming and Qing Dynasties to distinguish the ranks of officials. The tonic pattern is one of the nationally representative patterns in the Chinese clothing system. It is a symbol of official status and a concentrated expression of the supremacy of imperial power. It has a certain aesthetic value and cultural connotation. Most researches on the patterns of tonic patterns in the Ming and Qing Dynasties focused on the identification, characteristics of patterns, and composition laws of patterns of tonic patterns in the Ming and Qing dynasties.Few of the patterns of patterns of tonic patterns in the Qing Dynasty were studied from the perspective of semiotics. In this regard, there is a lack of new theoretical perspectives and new theoretical research.Combing the tonic patterns and semiotics literature, summarize the artistic characteristics of the tonic patterns in the Qing Dynasty. On the one hand, dig deeper into the design elements of the complement pattern and grasp the symbolic expression of the complement pattern;on the other hand, through the combination of the complement pattern and semiotics,it provides a new theoretical perspective for the complement pattern in modern design, increasing Related theoretical research and practical research value. The thesis takes semiotics as the theoretical research, takes the pattern of Bu Zi in the Qing Dynasty as the research object, regards the pattern of Bu Zi as a non-verbal symbol, and studies the symbolic characteristics of the pattern of Bu Zi in the Qing Dynasty. The full text consists of six chapters. The first chapter mainly starts from the research background and significance, the current research status and research content at home and abroad, and puts forward the key points, difficulties and innovations of the research. The second chapter first expounds the related concepts of semiotics,Roland Barthes semiotic theory and the complement pattern, then analyzes the feasibility of semiotics to study the complement pattern;analyzes the symbolic characteristics of the complement pattern, and studies the complement pattern in the Bart symbol.Relationship in learning.Chapter 3 begins to deeply analyze the visual symbol characteristics of the complement pattern from the perspective of Bart's semiotics, analyze the composition characteristics and pattern classification, and analyze the expression of the complement pattern elements in the symbols.Using the basic principles of Barth's semiotics: signifier and signified, combination and aggregation, detailed analysis of the specific manifestations of the tonic patterns of the Qing Dynasty in Barth's semiotics. The fourth chapter uses semiotics to analyze the design thinking and design methods in the pattern of tonic in the Qing Dynasty, combined with the works of famous designers at home and abroad,to study how to better combine semiotics and tonic patterns and apply them to modern clothing design in.The fifth chapter combines the analysis of the case part of the fourth chapter, puts forward the innovative design method of the complement pattern symbol system and carries out the series of clothing design in the modern clothing design. The sixth chapter summarizes the conclusions based on the previous discussion on the combination of semiotics and tonic patterns.I hope to explore the modern design method of the Qing Dynasty tonic pattern through semiotics and design practice, and to provide a more meaningful design pattern for the design of the Qing Dynasty tonic pattern through symbolic design thinking and methods, and at the same time,it can be used to complement the pattern. The innovative use of patterns in modern clothing design provides a reference.
