Research On Design And Application Of Peridot Jewelry

Natural Peridot is a beautiful green gem mineral with a high refractive index,great hardness,high transparency and a glassy surface.The biggest feature of peridot is its unique green color,which is almost different from other green gemstones.Its color covering a variety of varieties such as dark green,yellow-green and brown green.The fancy vivid yellow-green Peridot is also Known as "Emerald at Dusk".Peridot is a gem with a long history.It is not difficult to find this from historical records and museums that peridot attracted much attention in the West thousands of years ago.Nowadays,peridot has also become a favorite colored gemstone of some international brands.Peridot has a unique warm green.Its color combines the nobility of yellow with the hope of green.Peridot is not only unique in color,but also rich in mineral reserves.It is produced in China,the United States,Egypt,Myanmar,Pakistan,North Korea and other countries.Among them,China has the world's largest olivine reserves.The price of it is cheaper compared with red sapphires,spinels and tourmalines.In recent years,the popularity and reputation of the colored gemstone jewelry market has gradually increased.But the development of peridot jewelry lacks a systematic review and summary.The designs of peridot jewelry on the Chinese market are mostly similarities and lack of innovation,they also cannot meet people's aesthetic and emotional needs for jewelry in the new era.This research uses the method of combining pictures and texts to sort out the color characteristics of peridot,the key points of application and design in peridot jewelry design and the development history of peridot jewelry.It filling the gaps in the application of peridot in contemporary jewelry design.Based on the research results,the author explored the jewelry design practice of peridot with different characteristics in this research with the method of combining theory and practice.
