Research On Reconstruction Of Contemporary Jewelry With Traditional Enamel Color Language

With the time development,jewelry design presents a diversified trend of development,resulting the birth of contemporary art jewelry.Contemporary art jewelry has not been only limited to the traditional concept of ornaments used to decorate the human body,but carries more humanistic feelings.Contemporary jewelry focuses on the expression of idealism and experimental,in which color plays a pivotal role in jewelry design.Enamel was born in ancient Egypt in the 11 th century BC.It was formally introduced into China during the Yuan Dynasty and is still an important representative of Chinese metal craftsmanship.Its gorgeous color and exquisite patterns worth researching.In the past,enamel was used as a royal imperial instrument,but now it is often given to other countries as a "national ritual".Enamel still fails to enter people’s daily life.Tradition is not the end,and the best heritage is to travel with tradition.The focus of this paper is to analyze the traditional color language of enamel,apply it to contemporary jewelry design and explore the possibility of traditional technology in the contemporary context.The experimental process and results are presented by several series of jewelry design works,hoping to explore a new way of contemporary jewelry design and inject new blood into contemporary art jewelry design.This paper is divided into five chapters.Chapter 1 is the introduction,which introduces the research background and the basis of the topic,including the definition of enamel,the research value of enamel color,the difficulty and innovation of the research.Chapter 2 combs the color characteristics of enamel products in modern China and abroad,mainly analyzed the color of enamel in each period of Qing Dynasty,and analyzed a few of the color characteristics of European enamel in the new art period.Chapter 3 shows how enamel color is involved in contemporary jewelry design,taking the jewelry works of two foreign artists and one Chinese artist as an example.Chapter 4is the focus of this paper.The first section summarizes the important conclusions of the above chapters and provides theoretical support for graduation creation.Through the study and research to understand the importance of color in jewelry design,and the ideal effect achieved by the skillful use of color collocation.The second section describes the design concept,inspiration and creative process of graduation works.Chapter 5 is the conclusion of my research and the planning and prospect of my further research.I hope that "swallows of old Wang Hsieh Tang Qian,fly into the homes of ordinary people," and the enamel art can truly integrate into the daily life of the people,so that traditional handicrafts can be more practical and fashionable,and that more people can experience and enjoy the beauty of enamel art materials and craftsmanship beauty.Not only that,contemporary jewelry is not limited by materials and technology,the innovative effects it brings can also make people feel unlimited surprise and joy.
