In the 1980 s and 1990 s,regional economic cooperation has achieved rapid development. However, under an opening-up condition, the world trade environment is also facing new challenges. In the context of interest disputes where economic cooperation and friction coexist,a correct assessment on China's geo-environment and strategic resources and the establishment of global strategic awareness are conducive to appropriately adjusting the strategies for China's crude oil security, thereby ensuring national energy security. There are substantial research results on factors affecting international and China's crude oil and crude oil trade, but most of them are unfolded from the perspective of international trade only to explain economic phenomena with economic factors.Few studies focus on the influence of geographical environment and background on crude oil trade by combining perspectives of multiple disciplines.Based on the basic logic point that international crude oil trade is a part of the world geo-economy,in the paper, research framework and paradigm is introduced into the research on factors affecting the crude oil trade of China. Moreover,on the basis of the existing geo-economic theory and international trade theory,a theoretical analysis is carried out from natural, economic and social environments to construct an analysis framework of the factors, thus providing theoretical foundation for the setting of the variable system of the empirical research in the following text.On these bases, the affecting factors of China's crude oil trade are determined in a scientific manner by conducting systematically descriptive statistics on China's crude oil trade data from 2000 to 2019 and quoting the theory of gravity model to build the variable system of the analysis settings of the panel model. After that, the relevant results of theoretical and empirical analyses are used to put forward targeted and scientific countermeasures. The research is carried out by combining normative and empirical research. The paper covers 5 parts. The introduction mainly expounds the research background and significance, research content and methods, literature review and analysis, innovations and deficiencies of the paper. The theoretical foundation part briefly introduces the relevant basic theories studied in this paper, including the geo-economic theory and international trade theory, which are used as the basic theories for the research on factors affecting crude oil trade. The part of theoretical analysis mainly elaborates the factors by drawing on the theoretical basis of the research. The forth part mainly focuses on the descriptive and quantitative statistical analyses on the distribution of China's crude oil trade worldwide. The fifth part gives the main conclusions, policy suggestions and research prospects of the factors. The possible innovations of the paper mainly lie in the research field and perspective of the selected subject. The rare deficiency in domestic and foreign research on the affecting factors of the geo-economics of crude oil makes the breakthrough at the levels of the research field and perspective possible.
