Traditional Peking Opera Custume Color And Its Applicsation In Design

Praised as “the quintessence of Chinese culture”,Peking opera has a history of more than two hundred years,and it is the epitome of Beijing's and even Chinese's traditional culture and historical accumulation as well as one of the most symbolic features of Chinese traditional culture.The multifarious color variations found in Peking opera costumes show the unique charm and cultural significance of this art.Keeping in mind that Peking opera is Beijing's important traditional cultural heritage,and looking from the perspective of colors in Peking opera costumes,through literature research experts interview field research and other methods of textual research,the paper organized,analyzed,and integrated the main development path,cultural connotation,and aesthetic characteristics of the colors,the paper summarizes 30 representative colors of traditional Peking Opera costumes,so as to reveal the characteristics and the color scheme selections in traditional Peking opera costumes,as well as to pass on the traditional color customs of Beijing.This study used NCS as the surface color system to ensure the scientificalness,standardization,and systematization of the study on traditional Peking Opera costumes colors in addition to providing convenience for cultural and creative fields to better inherit and apply the color schemes of traditional Peking Opera costumes.
