| The sitting posture in ancient China has changed from "sit on the floor" to "sit on the seat".The form of furniture shows the trend of evolution "from low to high".Song Dynasty is not only the time that the high-sitting posture eventually established,but also when the ancient high-type furniture falls into a pattern.As a typical representative of high-type furniture,chair forms almost have finalized in the Song Dynasty.The introduction started with the cause of the thesis topic,also the necessity and significance of the research.In this paper,the object of study is the chair of real objects,sculptures,murals,stone relieves from archeological findings,and also the chair image in Song Dynasty paintings,ancient documents are important material,too.The research methods of image analysis,comparative analysis,literature analysis have been integrated used in this paper.The first chapter is about the situation of the chairs unearthed from the tombs,towers,grottoes and sites of Song dynasty.According to the current data,which has been published,the number is about 250.The paintings in the Song Dynasty is also the important part of the study material,on which the image of chairs existed.This chapter plays the role of bedding.This second chapter includes two big aspects,one is the origins of chairs in ancient China,the other is the chair classification.The chairs of Song dynasty can be divided into four kinds:back chair,armchair,round-backed armchair and folding chair.The different modelling in different area reflects the region and ethnic characteristics.The third chapter is based on the analysis and classification,which has been made in the former chapter.The author discovers the relationship between China's ancient wooden buildings and the ancient Chinese furniture.The chairs of Song dynasty,a treasure of Chinese history assuredly,is not only charactered by the social atmosphere,but also the product of aesthetic value of people back to that time,which deserves further investigation. |
