The Furniture In The Paintings Of Song Dynasty

By adopted the furniture in the paintings of Song Dynasty as the object of study,the origin and characteristics of the furniture from Song Dynasty in the development history of Chinese high-type furniture were reviewed,which provided a significant basis for presenting the furniture system of Song Dynasty and verifying that the furniture from Song Dynasty was the foundation of Chinese high-type furniture.This paper focuses on understanding the furniture system of Song Dynasty based on the paintings of Song Dynasty,expanding the study idea of the furniture from Song Dynasty,and forming the concept and frame of this paper.The main purposes of this paper are as follows: First,deduct the formation of the high-type furniture system of Song Dynasty.Second,by taking the cluster analysis method and reviewing the painting literature of Song Dynasty centered on the paintings of Song Dynasty,build the shape system of the furniture in the paintings of Song Dynasty,verify the history based on the paintings and illustrate the furniture system of Song Dynasty.Third,from the perspective of the people’s life of Song Dynasty,based on the furniture presented in the paintings from Song Dynasty,study the structural,aesthetic and cultural characteristics of the furniture in the paintings,thereby revealing the innovative characteristics of the furniture system of Song Dynasty.Firstly,under the historical background of the transformation of living style in China,the correlation among the transformation and development of sitting posture,seats and concepts were studied,and the inevitability of the formation of high-type furniture system of Song Dynasty was identified.Due to the collision and integration of diversified culture and civilization of Wei,Jin,Northern and Southern Dynasties,the shape of high-type furniture in Han Region gradually appeared,and the furniture of Sui,Tang and the Five Dynasties began to evolve into the high-type furniture system of Song Dynasty.The formation of the high-type furniture of Song Dynasty is generated during the evolution of Chinese culture,and follows the tendency of historical development.Secondly,according to the shape system construction of the furniture in the paintings of Song Dynasty,by virtue of the large samples of the furniture images of the paintings from Song Dynasty,the origin of the furniture system of Song Dynasty and Chinese high-type furniture system was clarified.The furniture from Song Dynasty was interpreted from two aspects: on the one hand,starting from the source of furniture,the evolution track of various furniture was reviewed,thereby establishing the classification framework of the furniture from Song Dynasty;On the other hand,based on the people’s life of Song Dynasty embodied in the paintings,the functions and characteristics of the furniture were studied.The combination of the two aspects indicates that,at the turning point of Chinese history and culture,the origin and development of Chinese ancient furniture and the people’s life of Song Dynasty are the source and foundation of the high-end furniture system of Song Dynasty.Based on the image samples,the typical shapes were physically presented,and the feasibility and rationality of the furniture in the paintings were verified.Thirdly,through the study of the system characteristics,the cluster analysis of the furniture in the paintings was implemented macroscopically and microscopically.Macroscopically,the connection between the furniture system and the people’s life of Song Dynasty was studied.From the following four perspectives,the systematic observation approaches were obtained,in order to reveal that the system contained diversified innovations: according to the “structure of furniture”,the conclusion that the system processed advanced “modular idea” and artistic characteristics combining virtual and real things was achieved;according to the “furniture and the people’s life of Song Dynasty”,the fact that the furniture system conformed to the people’s life of Song Dynasty and the life-based art source was offered;according to the “aesthetics of furniture structure”,the design concepts of the furniture were clarified;according to the “culture contained in furniture”,the important effects of culture on the reform and innovation of Chinese furniture system were revealed.Microscopically,typical arguments from multiple perspectives were analyzed.Focusing on specific paintings and furniture,based on the background of the paintings,the aesthetic characteristics and functions of high-type furniture were deeply analyzed,thereby indicating the interest and aesthetics of the people from Song Dynasty,and reflecting the humanistic connotation and spiritual pursuit of furniture.Therefore,the study on the innovation and advancement of the furniture system of Song Dynasty indicates that the furniture from Song Dynasty is the foundation of Chinese high-type furniture and has a profound impact on the development of Chinese furniture.
