A Case Study Of Meteorological Emergency Management Of “6.17” Earthquake In Yinbin

Meteorological emergency management refers to the whole process established by meteorology-related departments as the lead,of responding to sudden disasters and related public events.This type of emergency management mainly applies to various types of natural disasters or related public events restricted by meteorological factors.Although public emergencies such as earthquakes are not caused by meteorological factors,its subsequent treatment is restricted by meteorological factors.The meteorological department shall response timely by initiating emergency management schemes,organizing on-site meteorological services,mobilizing experienced experts to provide more accurate forecasts,which can reduce or avoid the possibility of new accidents during rescue.Thus it is safe to say that meteorological emergency management plays a crucial role in dealing with these events.Meteorological emergency management generally includes early warning release,information feedback,emergent response,postdisaster reconstruction and so on.At present,there are still many problems in meteorological emergency management in most areas of China,which need to be improved urgently.Specifically,the level of comprehensive meteorological observation needs to be further strengthened,the accuracy of meteorological forecasts needs to be further improved,the objects for the release of early warning information need to be further expanded,the meteorological-related emergency plans need to be further optimized,the overall operation and response mechanism between different departments need to be further improved,etc.How to build a scientific and reasonable meteorological emergency management system with high efficiency and quality,and improve the level of meteorological emergency support,is an important problem that needs to be solved by meteorological departments and related institutions in most regions of China,which affects the social and economic development and people's wellbeing.This paper uses the case of meteorological emergency management in the "6.17" earthquake in Changning,Yibin as a concrete example,combining theoretical results and successful experiences in emergency management and public crisis management,aiming to propose optimization suggestions for the meteorological departments and related institutions to build a more scientific,reasonable,high-quality,and efficient meteorological emergency management system,and provide more pragmatic practical inspirations for studying and solving outstanding problems in meteorological emergency management.
