Iron roughneck is an important automatic wellhead equipment in modern drilling engineering.It can efficiently complete automatic wellhead disassembly or drilling tool connection.Based on the subsequent project of “ The Crust I ” scientific drilling,upgrading and reform the SP?I-04 iron roughneck used in 10,000-meter drilling rig.The main research object of this paper is the spinner mechanism and spin-roller of iron roughneck,aiming at improving the work performance of spinner mechanism and spin-roller.The specific research content of this paper is summarized as follows:Based on the development status and existing products of iron roughnecks that at home and abroad,the development history and current situation of iron roughnecks are briefly described,especially the spinner mechanism and spin-roller forms adopted by most of them are introduced that to confirm the content and direction of this paper.On the basis of the overall structure and working process,the performance parameters of iron roughneck are determined according to the engineering needs.Compared with some spinner mechanisms that already existed,a new kind of spinner mechanism is designed and applied in SP?I-04 iron roughneck.Some problems of SP?I-04 iron roughneck spinner mechanism were found in application of project “The Crust I”.Some research on optimizing spinner mechanism: on the one hand,improving the stability of spinner mechanism;on the other hand,the form of supporting roller was modified,and the holding force that hydraulic cylinder required after change was checked.According to the theory of contact mechanics and the theory of rolling friction,the influence factors of contact force and rolling friction coefficient between drilling tool and spin-roller are analyzed.According to these theories,different types of spin-roller are studied and compared,and a new structural form of spin-roller is proposed.The simulation analysis of the spinner mechanism and the spin-roller has been made.Firstly,the dynamic simulation analysis of the process from the spinner mechanism to the spinner is made by using ADMAS,then some parameters and curves in the process of the spinner are obtained to verify the result that from theory analyze.Secondly,FEM analysis using Abaqus to simulate the contact force generated by the spinner mechanism when it was tightened,and the deformation and stress distribution are obtained.Experiment research of iron roughneck spinner mechanism and the spin-roller has been made to verify the rationality of the improved spinner mechanism.The results of experiment shows that the improved spinner mechanism working state is normal and reliable.
