Research On Ellul's Thought Of Technological Autonomy

The rapid development of technology is the most prominent feature of contemporary society,and technology has become a trend.This trend is like an out-of-control train.No one can change the speed and direction of its travel.Busy people seem to be waiters for the barbaric growth of technology,and technology that should serve people has become a tyrant giving orders to people,with autonomy—-The foundation of human beings seems to have been gradually forgotten.Ellul is keenly aware of the inhuman problems of modern technology,and repeatedly emphasized the non-negligible impact of technological autonomy on mankind and society in his "Technical Society","Technical Order" and "Technical System" and many other writings.Technological autonomy is the core of this famous French scholar.Although many people think that Ellul is exaggerating,its warning significance is beyond doubt in today's more advanced technology.This article draws on the research results of many scholars at home and abroad,based on careful study of Ellul's original work,analyzes the realistic background and theoretical origins of the formation of his technological autonomy thought,and summarizes the connotation,formation premise and operation logic of technological autonomy,and Ellul's necessary conditions for overcoming technological autonomy and the realization path were evaluated.The article first analyzes the impact of the two world wars and the rapid development of science and technology on Ellul's thoughts after the war,and then discusses Marx's views on the capitalist application of science and technology and the “authority” of technology in production,and the Frankfurt School's one-way The social critical theories such as the ideological function of human and science and technology have inspired Ellul's thoughts,expounding the theoretical origin of Ellul's autonomy of technology.The third chapter is the core of this article.Through the clarification of the concepts of “technology” and “technological autonomy” defined by Ellul,the self-increase of the technological system,the automaticity of technological advancement and the goallessness of technological development are discussed.On the one hand,the generation logic of technological autonomy is constructed.On this basis,it analyzes Ellul's five conditions for overcoming technological autonomy,the impossibility of the old ethics to achieve this goal,and the “non-power ethics” that puts on the ethical “compass” for technology to regulate its direction and intentions."The possibility of restoring human autonomy.In the face of independent technology,the strong technological determinism that people will do nothing is obviously biased;in today's technology is popular,human autonomy is shrinking,which is also an indisputable reality;in the process of building an innovative country,it should be strengthened as much as possible.The heteronomy of technology to restore human autonomy is the significance of this research.Finally,this article discusses the theoretical and practical significance of Ellul's autonomy of technology,and puts forward some suggestions on how to develop human technology.
