The distinctive geographical location and weather conditions of the Arctic and Antarctic,which attract the attention from the whole world,are related to the global safety and development.In 1984,China began its first Antarctic Research Expedition and established Great Wall Station.Thereafter,polar scientific research stations have successively been established,including Zhongshan Station,Kunlun Station,Taishan Station,Inexpressible Island Station and Arctic Yellow River Station.So far,37 Antarctic Research Expeditions and 11 Arctic Research Expeditions have been successfully carried out,and a scientific investigation system of "two ships and six stations" has been established.It is worth mentioning that surveying and mapping is the first step in polar scientific expeditions.After nearly 40 years of development,modern and informatized polar surveying and mapping system based on the " Space-AirGround-Ocean " stereo observation method has been established.It has provided a solid guarantee for the progress of polar scientific expedition and safeguarded the rights and interests of the country in the polar field.With the development of polar scientific expedition,massive polar spatial data has been accumulated in the polar field.Polar spatial data is multi-source,heterogeneous,diverse in content and multi-dimensional in time and space.In order to ensure that the polar scientific achievements are applied to serve the scientific researchers and the public for providing decision-making basis for polar strategic research,we must integrate and release polar spatial data effectively.In this context,this paper studies polar spatial data integration and online publishing technology.Polar spatial data includes map data,control point data,GPS observation data,terrain data,remote sensing and its product data,expedition data,surveying benchmarks data,and place name data.The polar spatial data covers a wide range,and its region can be reached from north to south.Web Mercator projection is usually used in web map mapping,which is obviously deformed at the pole,and can not truly reflect the location,shape and other distribution characteristics of polar spatial data.Therefore,this paper chooses cesium as the visualization platform.Based on the characteristics including realizing polar spatial data integration,sharing and interoperability of Open GIS Web Service,a polar spatial data integration architecture is established,taking Geo Server as web service layer and cesium as presentation layer in this paper.It provides users with shareable geographic information services and is convenient for researchers to make further analysis and decision.The polar spatial data is divided into vector data and raster data.And the online publishing technology of polar spatial data is discussed in detail with Geo Server,u Dig and Cesium.This paper also studies and implements the data automatic publishing methods based on Geo Server REST API.Three typical polar spatial data,including expedition track data,polar resources and environment thematic data and polar thematic maps,are taken as examples to apply the above analysis and research to practice.The integration,publishing and visualization of polar spatial data are realized from vector map data to raster map data,spatial coverage to spatiotemporal variation characteristics,and horizontal distribution characteristics to vertical distribution.In summary,according to the content and characteristics of polar spatial data,the integration framework design and online publishing technology are studied and discussed in this paper.Through research data integration,online publishing and visualization applications,this paper can provide polar spatial data for management departments,scientific research institutes and enterprises,which promote polar spatial data sharing services and support for national polar strategic deployment.
