Digital map publishing system is the intersect of cartography, computer science , graphic technique and the print technique It must look after both sides of the publish rules and the mapping standards ?It is a pity that, at this time, the mapping system and the publishing system are developing at the trace of themselves It is inefficient and untimely to produce maps by using these system, the data must be shift between them. The juncture of the mapping and the publishing is at the most urgent situation. The developing of the publishing system is a complex project. Developing base on software architecture is a new way to build software system, it place the view at the macro structure as while as the local function and data structure. The purpose of this paper is to build the software architecture to the map publishing system.Base on the "function droved" and "device and conquer" architecture motto, I analysis the function collection of the publishing system at first, then, bring forward the System junction view, Layer structure view, Control View and Deployment view. System function view enumerate the problems this system must to solve , Layer structure view decompose the system into multiple software tiles , Control View describe the data flow in this system, Deployment view discuss the deployment of the software and hardware in the map publishing system. At the last part of this paper , I will discuss the data model and the output interface of the system in detail. This discussing is the supplement to the views. The data model is drive from the analysis of the data model of GIS ,CAD and DTP system. It include the geometry model, the map model, the topology model and their database schema. The output interface model is aim at "What you see is you get".
